We Did We Expect?

As we know PES6 is out and although it is the best version of the Pro Evo Soccer series (When we get the stutting out the way). I can't help but feel disappointed, my reasons are that well, although some improvements were made to the overall game play, it is very much just a PES 5.5 rather than PES 6. The improvements are obvious to the shooting, referees, dribbling. But YET they still have one of the most annoying things ever to grace the world of video games and I’m sure you all are aware of it, because when this happens I feel like smashing my Ps2 joypad and punching my monitor, the most annoying thing in a video game is ‘’ when you go to pass to a certain player and it goes to a completely different member of your team, if your lucky but normally it goes to a player on the opposing team’’ why the hell have Konami never eradicated this F@#$ing annoying thing from the game, I do not know.

The whole Idea of this thread is, I am going to write down what I would love to see in the next-gen of the series. And to see what you other players were expecting from PES6.

A tiger woods style create/edit player mode
I enjoy editing the players in PES but I can’t stand the fact that certain player in all the teams have faces that don’t look like them and when you try to create a new one, you can’t. With a Tiger Woods style create/edit you can create any one, which would make to overall game much more enjoyable. Example scoring a header from a corner with Man Utd’s Nemanja Vidic and he goes to celebrate it doest feel realistic because it doesn’t look like him.

More Control
Have full control of the players. Example when the goalkeeper is about to kick it out (not from a dead ball, but when he has it in his hands) you can’t keep control of the player nearest to him and say foul him or block him kicking the ball out.

Online Mini-Leagues
I have a lot of mates who also have PES 5/6 and I think that it would be amazing and fun if while your online with friends that you could set up your own clan mini league where u could set a league up to see who is the best player out of you and your mates

Better GK’s
More difficult Goalies with a better A.I.

i would liek to know what you think of my ideas and what you would like to seee in the future PES titles

Thanks Danny

Generally... I agree. But to me, the VERY IMPORTANT thing for a patch (for PES6, naturally!), is to create GERMAN Championship, Holland Championship maybe & Portugal's, create ALL these teams' REALISTIC rosters/faces/kits/logos/emblems, add some cool ORIGINAL fans' audio, add few SERIOUS pitch-skins (that soccer fields that PES6 is using... are PATHETIC!)... and create a FAR BETTER growd!
That's what I think the PES6 needs more now....

To me, like you said so, PES6 is NOTHING but a PES5.5 update...

on the passing thing, if you don't like the passes the cpu chooses you can use manual passes. probably easiest to change the button configuration so you just have to nudge the right analog to perform a pass rather than press the R3 button

Unfortunatelly... I bought a 50 € Logithech game-pad... but I'm STILL CAN'T use to it!!!
So... I'm just doing common pass, brake-through pass, "1-2" pass & long pass!Pitty though...

Oh... something else... Why sometimes, when I have a player in the "box", making a fake move and SHOOT... the ball is going "slow long" instead of a POWERFULL shot??? I'm NOT pressing ANY OTHER key, except the "□"! Any ideas WHY?

I've never had the problem you've had. If anything for me the problem in previous versions was that when you pressed pass it went directly to someone everytime pretty much without fail! This years version is better because it's more possible to intercept the ball and you have to be more careful with your passing which is more realistic in my opinion.

Oh and as for this whole PES5.5 thing.... what else could they have done? They have stretched the game to the point where there is no real way to improve it apart from in gameplay which is exactly what they've done.

My lad... CROUCH has a weak foot??? Or... GERRARD???
In SOME plays, the player is shooting a... ROCKET! In others, the shot that I told you...

My friend... in the PREVIOUS versions I DIDN'T have that problem! IN THIS one I have it!

About "WHAT ELSE they could done?" question...

Let's face the truth... FIFA has ALL the lisence! PES will NEVER gonna GET THEM also!... So, PES "power" is gameplay, menus' ease and GRAPHICS!
In THIS version..., the gameplay is FANTASTIC... and THAT's about it!!!
The graphics are BY FAR the worst of ALL PC PES versions (except the 3D players' models...) and the menus/configuration/settings are BY FAR MORE complicated & silly!

That's my LONG experiance of MILLIONS hours in PC football gaming...

But isn't that to do with your system specification?

They haven't been able to improve the graphics on the ps2 since at least PES4 now but it still looks pretty good over all to me for this generation. Better than fifa graphics.

completely agree with tht last bit, if pes6 was really different everyone would have moaned theyve changed it, ive got past the stuttering now and i think the game is great best yet, most frustrations from pes5 are gone. the graphics on mine look great. i know wot u mean about the passing i thot it was maybe just me not actually pressing the d pad in the right direction tho!

the lack of licensed teams is a bit annoying i suppose. someone told me that anyone can buy the licenses from fifa / uefa to use the correct team names in a computer game, but konami are just tight. anyone know the workings of the licensing system?

other things that konami could work on include the interface, which is terrible and has got worse in some areas. for example to choose a custom master league team i have to construct a new search for every player i add, which takes forever and makes me less inclined to trawl through all the players to find ones with low enough wages and high enough stats.

the transfer system in master league is horrible too. there's no way to tell whether your offer has been rejected by the club or the player and there's no hint from the cpu teams what price might be enough to initiate a sale. this hasn't changed over the last two or three releases, which compared with other pc games is unforgivable.

and i think that's the problem. pes remains a game that's plagued by console sensibilities, where the developers never interact with the customers and where the scope for user customisation of the game is strictly limited. this is hugely frustrating for pc people used to games like civ 4 where the interface is very thoughtfully deisgned and the level of customisation is incredibly high.

so, i think there may actually be room for an entirely pc based football game. perhaps it could license the konami engine (this is done in the FPS world all the time, half-life being based on the unreal engine and so on) but have an interface much more suited to the pc's mouse and keyboard set up, and taking advantage of the greater processing power and storage capability of the pc. so, for example, you could run the top three tiers of the spanish, english, italian and german leagues in an almost football manager like situation.

the massive cost of creating so many more teams could be offset by relying to a certain degree on user created content, i.e. people could make their favourite teams, a points cap could stop them making all of their players super amazing. judging by the speed with which people have corrected the english premier league in pes 6, there's clearly no shortage of people aching to create their own high quality content.

does anyone else think this would be a good idea? i'd like to know what people who have modded other games think of it.

Kev The Drummer?

Kev if u hav never had the problem ive had with the passing then u dont play the game enough to comment simple, sry to b blunt but u must of had the problem with a pass goin to a different player than the one u meant if u have played the game enough. i have played all the PES series & it has been in all of them, so u just dont have enough experience on the game, and about ur comment that in previous pes games that all passes went to ur player with out any problem, then i say that u hav not played anyone who any good coz bein able to intercept a pass has been in the pro evo series since PES3.

the pass problem doest happen often but when it does it pisses me off that is all i was tryin to say i didnt intend it to mean that it is doin it on every pass, u FOOL

thanks Danny

My friend... I have a "high tech - state of art" PC! With dual core cpu, 4GBs RAM, double 6800 VGA cards,... etc.!
I'm playing the game in the... "reasonable" resolution of 1600x1200 32!
And the team kits/emblems/logos' resolution SUCKS!
And... we talking here about the PC VERSION, NOT the PS2 version...
You mention... PS2, that's why I make that last note...

I didn't say that the graphics are CRAP! I said... COMPARING with the PES5 they are!

I totaly agree with "pj_player"...

Half-life licensed the Quake 2 engine, not Unreal.

I can't see Konami doning the same with PES, unless the licensing fee outweighed the loss of revenue suffered due to a the entry of a direct competitor. Even though the PC sales are small in comparison to PS2 etc, I suspect this is still a sizeable amount.

The PC version is a lazy port from the PS2. This always has been the case, although this version is marginally better. The PC is a far more capable platform than the PS2, but this capability is never fully realised by Konami. No advanced rendering settings, native anti-aliasing etc and no particularly high-res textures.

Given that you can already build a PC that is more powerful than an XBOX 360 or that rivals a PS3, why is the PC so hamstrung by Konami?

I guess, we'll must wait to see when a patch will be releashed, to fix A LOT of PES6 "lacks"...
Then... it will probably be good enough.
