Can this Jonboyos patch be played using swap magic and flip top lid?

No, I tried it. I was wondering weather you apply the patch to the full bin then use a rip kit to make it work with Slide card/flip top? Anyone tried it?

Whilst at our neighbour EVO-WEB, I came across the idea of how to patch the reduced size of WE7I. With one of the rip kit provided. I used Jay Jays Rip Kit.

1) I got the original P.I.M.P Bin
2) I downloaded Jonboyos Patch and applied it to the original P.I.M.P bin.
3) Then I extracted SOME of the contents of the .Bin. I extracted the DATE_E_AFS.
The only Big AFS FIle to extract and all the rest of the little files. Also leave out Dummy.Bin. If you download the JAy Jay Rip Kit, all should instructions should be their. Create a folder in the C Drive called "WE7I". Extract the contents in their.
4) Exract the contents of the Rip Kit rar to WE7I folder.
5) Press the bat file and an iso should be made. Be aware of any errors that occur and feed them back to me here.
6)Open up CDMage, open the iso file created in "WE7I". Then press save as:... then select your name for your cue and then press save. On the next screen, select the track type. Its the bottom of the drop down menu! Im on my laptop so I cant access my BIG DATA! ;)
7) You should be presented with a .bin file of a patched game of WE7I.
8)Burn using alcohol 120% using the playstation 2 setting!

Play the New Jonboyo patch using your slide card or flip top!

You may need CDMAGE Beta Version!

After some extensive playing, you will need the option file to turn on the proper kits. If not, you create a new option file, and turn on the kits from the edit team menu!

An option file from Jonboyo would be good. I mean the update would be needed to be burned on a new cd. The option file provided doesnt have any transfers.

Just noticed it on evo-web :)
I´ll make a new thread because this is not really an update but a normal patch and it´s not only for the PIMP rip but for any rip :)

Do I put the jb8.03.04 on after I have put the jb28.2.04, or do I just put the 8.03.04 on its own. Sounds like you don't but just making sure. I am so close to patching a game so excited!

Like larrson said just above, the jb8.03.04 is a patch on its own and not an update.
Go to the thread for the 8.03.04 and follow the patching instructions there.
Ignore the 28.2.04 and you'll be fine.

Use FlashFXP is you have a weak connection. (56k etc) you can resume your downloads.

I have downloaded the jb8.03.04 but when I try to apply it to my data.e.afs it doesn't work. It only took about 2mins to download from lomungtung, is this right? because I downloaded the 28.2.04 and it took 4hrs!

have downloaded the jb8.03.04 again still only took a couple of minutes, but can't apply it yet as my rip has fucked up. (have explained in 'how to make a cd rip' thread, if someone can help)

Can anybody tell me if this is right if it does only take a couple of minutes to download jb8.03.04. Because it might not be downloading properly for me, so need to know.

cheers.

I now that the patch jb8.03.04 is a RAR file (like most patches at JB's site) and you have to extract it with winrar, and it's a big file (i believe about 124mb, but i'm not sure). So, yes, 5 minutes downloading is really short! Did you extracted the Rar file with winrar? Anyway, if you do, you will get a message that the document isnt completed or something like that. Thats what happened with RAR files i didnt download properly.

Instead of saying who long it took, tell us how big the file is, what type of file it is and then take a look at the thread of the patch which will tell you how big the patch file should be.

Most downloaded files will be .rar
Unrar them to give you .ppf or other.

Basics.
