Now mine's up and running I can tell you all the trouble I've gone to get here...

Firstly I decided to buy a new ps2 cos my old one kept freezing and I didn't want to risk importing a game and it not working - £139.99

Then I obviously paid for the game + 2-4 TNT shipping fee - $80.30

Then comes the slide card/swap magic, I bought one but then found out it wouldn't arrive for 2 weeks so bought another one! I'm just too impatient - $37 + £27

Then I had to buy a new scart cable to make it come out in colour - £7.99

Aside from all the money issues the postman nearly didn't bother to deliver my slide card after all, first he walked past the house without even coming to the door, then to my relief he came back but only posted a letter about TV licensing! As you can appreciate this caused me some concern because I'd already waited one whole day with we8 but being unable to play it and I was damned if I was going to wait another one! So I went out the door and told him I was supposed to be receiving a recorded delivery today so he calmy reached into his bag and gave me my package. Just to think that if I hadn't gone after him I'd still be sitting here waiting and scavenging any morsel of information I could find rather than vigourously going through the editing process.

Has anyone else got any interesting stories as to how they got hold of their copy?

Only a very brief note after playing a couple of games yesterday. I must say I've really enjoyed my first experience of Winning Eleven having had every ISS and Pro Evolution Soccer game.

Don't start telling me I have to buy something else now!

I've had my copy of winning eleven 8 since 3 days ago, but i had to order a new premod ps2 as my last one quit on me, it wont be here until the 13, thats 7 days away, making for a total of 10 days with WE8 at my side and no way to play it. All i do all day long is stare at the manual and look for vids on here. Modchipworld really didnt come through for me as they shipped it 4 days late, i could be getting it tomorrow but now i have to wait till the 13. Once it comes though Im never going to stop playing it, because this is torture, like being chained up and starving while someone dangles food just out of your reach. But you can still smell how delicious it is and you know that it will be the best food of all time once you taste it. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I cant wait.

Well, I got WE8 on Wed, ordered the swap discks and slide card wednesday night from the official site, and they haven't arrived yet.

I'm praying they come tommorow...or I'm liable to pull my hair out

Long story short.

My Ps2 is that knackered is doesn;t actually read my PES3 CD, and now it won't read swap magic either. Looks like it's off to a mates and off buying a new ps2 tommorow if it works.

Well I got my copy from a local dealer
I jsut ahd to persuade him to get a copy
