I quite literally bought a new DVD drive entirely for the purpose of playing WE8i on my PC. On the reccomendation of a friend, I've been looking through the web, and found this site (among others) offering wonderous, wonderous tweaks and changes to the game to get all the godforsaken unlicensed teams out of the game and replace them with real teams with their real kits. But I am noticing one thing.

All of the fan-made patches for the game i'm seeing are for Pro Evolution Soccer 4. Now, I know, at their very core PES and WE are much of the same game, but niggling differences always screw things up, so i'm wondering if anyone knows if PES4 patches will work on WE8i, or, failing that, if there are any WE8i patches wating in the wings for its release on the 8th?

we8i pc just came out this week
there are no specific patches for it

im not sure if the pes4 patches wont work for it, but you could try those first by grabbing the wolfs latest patch


(shoulda just got pes4)

Another question, if i may. I've been reading a bit about Wolf's patch for PES4, and am quite happy to see that he's going to be doing a update for WE8i, but I was left with a question reading about it.

Now, am I to understand that the Master League will not work with this particular user-made patch? Or is there simply a certain amount of tweaking i'm going to be needing to do to get it to work in the method i'd prefer?

The transfers and new Football Manager statistics will not work in the Masterleague for now. But the mode will work.

Pes4 option files are not compatible with we8i. I tried to hexedit some bytes at the beginning of the file, and now we8i recognizes the file, but it still can't load it. The differences must be just a few, coz weopteditor and editpes4optionfile can work on both types. If i'll manage to find what to change and where i'll let you know.

edit: to make we8i recognize pes4 option file as an option file, change B1 to B7 at 0x00000006. Now we8i can see that file as an option file (not as corrupted data) but it still can't load it. WIP

Thanks for the updates all. Since PCs are all equal, I just canceled my order for WE8i and put one in for PES4.

hi.. there are already we8i pc option file in available made by wolf.. si i think u dun have to cancel yuor we8 but its good if u can have it both

hey can you help me out anyone,i currently have we8 jap version and i think its a quality game the thing is a struggle in the master league as i havent a glue as its all japanese!!lol the thing is i am in USA and wondered about buying the we8 international game as it would all be in english, would that be a good idea or am i wasting my money!??

yea ,thats what i was think its just a pain as i brought the WE8 Jap verision already as i thought it might of had a different languages in the options but it didnt so it makes the game very hard to understand what you are doing!! but i think ill get WE8 international thanx for the help Maniac2003,i cant wait until us europeans can play we and the pes games online against each other!!
