ive got jonboyos patch for pes4 and its fantastic. can i use this patch for WE8LE or is there another one available with all the kits, balls etc for that version?

shit im nearly afraid to ask here but i am a complete newby to downloading and patching etc....i've also posted a question elsewhere (where i shouldnt have) so sorry.
ive just moved to korea (which has been stressful enough) and just bought the game, still havent even got a playstation yet??
firstly is there any type of ps i need?? should it be chipped?? does it need to be an online one?? does it need to be that new small one??
ive been playing the game in the playstation rooms over here....its costing me a fortune......
anyway what do you mean by the dvd only??? what do i need to do?? do i need an x-port??Im sorry for being such a newby but really im am shit at this kind of thing but need help.
fair play to ye for all the work ye have done....Massive Respect. If some one could help it would be great- can i copy down a patch from the internet straight to cd???
again apologies for all the questions but i am really desperate.....
p.s. i recognise some of the names from pro-evo 2 site ages ago which i used to check out and got some great help and tips from,glad to see that the love of the game goes on.......... but like i said ive never downloaded a patch or anything for that matter so if anyone could help or point me to a patching for dummies forum that would be great...........

Hi. This is a thread for a patch. Please try to ask questions in the General Editing section in future.
To play a patched game you need a chipped or modified PS2. The other mods are explained in the thread titled "methods to play patched...." which is a sticky thread. All PS2s have a chip or a method you can use - just check around and get the right one for your PS2.
You don't need online play as you can't play patched games online (apart from the pc version).
Once you have a PS2, simply go to the thread of a patch in the File Downloads section and the download links should be in the first post. Download the patch. Then read the "Basic Guide to Patching" which is another sticky - it explains all you need to do to patch your game. The original game is on a DVD, from which you copy the image to your PC and then apply the patch to it to change it. Then you burn the patched image onto a DVD-R and play it on a chipped/modded PS2.
You can also rip the patched dvd image to a CD but that is more complicated and it doesn't always work - there is no definitive method of ripping the game to cd. Sometimes it works on one patch and if you try another, it won't work. X-Port is only used for transferring memory card files between your PC and memory card. Using the right option file can make a patched game look better but some patches come with the best option file within it already.
