WE9 Complaints/Space for improvement...

WE've heard and seen and felt(most of the ppl in this forum i tink) how amazing the new Winning Eleven 9 is... but still, there's space for improvement and some of the not so nice things about WE9.

Share your opinions.....

I feel this latest installation have too many fouls.. slightest touches, clean tackles most of the time results in the referee blowing his whistle...

any1 agrees?....will post more if something comes to mind..

During ''Goalkicks'', I'm still unable to direct my short passes.
Leaving me with only one option, to pass to the defender who is regularly haunted by an opposition striker. Forcing me to make a helpless hoof up the park.

I feel the fouls are improved dramatically since WE8:LE

One thing that does annoy me though, when the CPU has a throw in you cant go within a certain distance from the player...its gay as you know you can never win possession straight from the throw....

Also I feel in corner kicks there should be an option to get a player to stand beside you like there is for free kicks.

Yah i totally agree wif this point dude... i preferably do a short pass during goal kicks cos kicking high up is usually hopeless and useless...

I think the game is awesome but one thing i noticed is that the goal celebrations are rubbish really. how many time have u seen someone score a belter and then run away and his teammates go mad and so do the crowd, we sometime on we9 they just do one man celebrations! something ive never really understood!

The ref is a little too swift to award a foul in my opinion but he is pretty lenient when it comes to yellow/red cards. But I think the japanese commentary hides a bit of whats going on as I have heard that they say things like "He was clearly using his elbows there" etc so that you get a better idea about what happened during a certain situation that Konami cannot portray graphically due to the PS2's limits.

Also, the offside is very, very precise and not really as realistic as it could be. Linesman make mistakes but the CPU never, ever does and picks up on even a big toe just infront of the last defender.

But this game really is a huge improvement over all other WE/PES games.

Too right mate. I've lost the ball countless times due to the ''Automatic Sidestepping'' crap. Though it has occasionally worked in my favour too.

I've found myself not scoring chances that are simple and then I hit a rediculous shot from out wide and the keeper can't save it. The keepers seem pretty shite to me which isn't grea tand I doubt there's much chance of them being improved for PES5.

i dun mind having lesser crowds for minor games..... but the atmosphere and cheers still sounds like the stadium is fully packed, when in actual fact there's only a few spectators only...

Yeah!!! I've already said this before, I think it's rubbish!

Especially in the holy ground of Highbury where the seats are close to sidelines! It sounds as if it's a packed capacity on 3 stars yet it seems we're being punished for crowd control and forced to play behind closed doors???

Maybe they are outside???

Non shooting free kcks - THat power bar for passing on free kicks is total crap. That power bar is a sham, you can put it all the way up on a pass and it doesnt change the power of the pass. Now I know the power bar is usual height, but since you cannot put height on a pass, it must be power then. Furthermore, I hate not being able to pick out a player. I try to aim sometimes, and it doesnt go where I am but instead right the computer player. It shouldnt even be in there for passing because it doesnt change anything.

to opposition team players improve? I don't really notice it, if they don't then obviously it would be really easy for us to overcome the other teams, and there wouldn't be other star players that sprout from other clubs

Hopefully for pc they'll allow you to have full stands, as pc can easily handle that, ridiculous if they dont' allow that...even XBox could do it.

Maybe the power bar is to fool your mate when playing 2 player mode... so it looks like you're doin a long pass or shoot but infact its a short pass.... at least it won't be obvious....

Another thing i dun like is that the home team will forever start the kick-off and start on the right side of the pitch (attacking left). It would be nicer if we can have a flip of coin or some variations... in starting..... maybe the away team can kick off e.t.c...

I have a Jap WE9. I must confess that the first time I played it i just hated it.

When I played PES4 i used to win 3-0 minimum in 6* game. But I couldn`t even score once in WE9. Even 3* in WE9 seemed pretty difficult. :angry:

But i gave it another try and i started to understand the subtle differences between them. No more "side-runs cross and goals". No more lightning attacks, no more easy defences. No more 1-2 passes.

Now, you have to construct your game. Defenders aren´t so easily fooled.

You must rely a lot on well constructed formations and skills.

It´s just a different kind of game.

I didn´t understand why can´t i kept possesion of the ball. Almost every single pass was intercepted or i just received it and lost it immediatly.
But i began to study how to receive the balls using R2 and R1. How to take advantage of the new controls.

But today something happened that surprises me. I really gave an scream of joy when i scored an incredible goal. This game is lot more rewarding. I don´t know if i am going to score a 14-0 again, but believe every single goal i had scored in this new game is well earned goal.

Not I must say... I love this game. :wub:
