I hope someone gets an option file up quickly for WE9I, as I think I'll finally be purchasing a max drive! I'll probably also purchase a network adapter. Hope the wireless setup isn't impossible/too hard. Anyone done this already got tips?

Yeah I ordered WE8 from them last year, as well as Guild Wars and MGS3. Expect to get the game about a week after release. If that doesn't bother you, I'd recommend them (if you have a Fry's Electronics nearby, you might catch the same price in store when the game releases).

For anyone who has a max drive(compatible with American PS2), how well does it work because i read some reviews on amazon.com and a lot of them complained about their memory cards becoming corrupt.

I wouldn't buy it from that Outpost.com. If it takes a week after release and all you get is $5 off, why do it? Just do a google search for coupons and best buy and you can find a 10% off electronics coupon to print out. It'll be $1 more, but it's worth it to get it the day it comes out.

Do you know if you can get a maxdrive in the U.S.(for xbox too)?

Saw the post about Best Buy, and that looks like what I'll probably do, unless I can order the maxdrive and wxi all in one shipment from somewhere.

Janurary is flying by and I can't wait for the game.

So the action replay max is essentially the US version of the max drive. I saw these around, but I wasn't sure if they would do the trick. I guess they will work the same as the max drive.
And I guess that wXi will require separate option files or patches or whatever they are, so I guess we wait until they are out.

yea the action replay is really easy to use, i really had no problems, its just gonna be a matter of time waiting for an option file, currently i am looking into an option file converter that can turn a PES5 option file into a WE9i option file...ill let you know how it turns out.

But that action replay is $40. Isn't there any way to just buy the memory card transfer device like the max drive? They've gotta have that in the US, right?

i haven't found it, i looked too, ive been on this sight for a long time and as soon as i heard about a max drive i set out to get it, but this is the only thing i could find. Action Replay is it as far as i know, and you do need the software to use the transfer device.

If you can get your hands on the software you could technically use any flash drive, i don't know how you'd go about that tho.

Good point. Gas shot up this week tho, so any change i can save helps. I had a $10 coupon at overstock.com from a while back, so $29.99 it is then. I wish Fry's had PS2 network adapters for $20 still -_-....

Anyone have anything cocrete that says we will miss the original 2/7/06 release date?

I don't trust the game stores (EB & GameStop) dates, because they don't want to turn away early pre-orders.

As I recall this is the same scenario as last year...the date was pushed back a month.
