is it me or do the players take unusually short strides when they dribble? they also look like they're prancing or tip-toeing on the pitch as they dribble. do you guys notice that? i don't like it at all.

let's not forget this is only the demo.

but i doubt the short-strided prancing will be changed.

I remember playing the demo of Soul Reaver once and it was rubbish compared to the full game, so yeah you can never read too much into demos. As for the penalties, I've never rated them in PES. They had it sorted with ISS 64, where you had a little cross-hair thingy and power bar, I prefer that than the skilless 'direction, kick' penalties in PES. I agree the goalie view isn't good. Still overall there's lots of positives about this demo and from what I've experienced so far suggests the full game will be brilliant.

The ever-persisting lack of gameplay options in the first 2/3rds of the field where if u as much dares as list the ball 2ft of the ground u will invariably lose possession.

The same applies for Freekicks, Goal kicks, and dropped goal kicks. The fact that it is only really wise to play a high ball down the line or as a cross in the last 1/3rd is highly annoying....especially if u are like me and try them when U think they should work, only to have the games AI script the ball right to the feet of the defender.....NO WHERE NEAR WHERE U WERE AIMING BALL TO GO!

Ughhhhh.........

Yes they do look odd when they sprint with the ball. I dunno why they changed the animation when PES6 looked fine. I dont think it's that hard to changed the animation. So hopefully they do, but well see.
At first it really bothered me but after playing a few games i guess i can deal with it. If it were my game id changed it. Looks weird. Even the way the arms move.

The short dribbile is great if your playing with messi
you can cut pass anyone which is great

but a short dribble with henry dnt look so good he needs long strides

the p.k is awful. scoring is too easy, well for some, i have noticed that most shots are lower even with full bar power unless thats an individual player thing.

the goalies are at times to say the least terrible...
then amazingly the next play theyll pull something off amazing...
why would konami make the keepers worse? and make it easier 2 score scrubby goals? i score all the time on top player easily by just taking a corner into the near post driven or far post and the ittle just bounce off the goalie and in? wtf?

thats true,at 1st i thought the keepers were better and alot of the time they are,its just on occasions in most matches may i add, they do something extremly poor.and when they save sometimes it looks as there doing an animation that involves them catching the ball from a dive but they spill it constantly, even when its not all that powerfull.

hi everyone, finally I tested the demo on xbox 360. I had no great expectations about it, ı hope I will like the new PES.However, CPU's new gameplay feature, so called team vision, annoy me to much. I can arrange myself to the speed of the game, although it is really too fast, I can accept the poor goalies, some stupid animations etc. I dont care wheter there is next graphics or not. The main thing is the team vision, because CPU teams play like sh*t. There is no wise movements, no variations. I played approximately ten matches, there is no shot attempt by CPU. It makes me crazy. They only try thru ball. Does anyone else experience it? If the final version is same as the demo, I will quit playing PES.

Aye....The shooting seems broke....I am pulling of shots with the power that I would have thoguht would send it into roof of net or even sometimes into row Z.......ends up being a low driven daisy cutter....

Unsatisfying and Annoying......yet another NEW frustrating flaw introduced to the game.....

I hope that the shooting in the full version is 'fixed'...somehow though..I doubt it....what we are playing is the full game with a whole lot of options and teams left out.

Infact...

The Shooting is fucked in this demo.....

I have come to the conclusion that I would be able to hit in better screamers on goal on a real football pitch than these PES2008 superstar sprites can do on my monitor.... I am setting up thunderbolt oportunities for my midfielders to run on to and all they can do with nearly full power on is chip gently towards keeper at chest height.....

Fucksake man...this aint what the game is all about...

It seems that keeping the ball lower is a feature of the AI this time round....ball trajectoryis also low with high passes and high manual passes...

Urghhhhhhhh....

They always manage to do it......always manage to break something that wasn't needing fixed and leave you asking....WHY?

It's a marketing ploy. They're planning ahead for next years game... and the next year, they'll do the same thing. It's a perpetual cycle of customer dissatisfaction leading to customer hopefulness that the developer will right the wrongs. They've been doing it for a good, long time now. It's been realized and yet people still buy these games... it vexes me. Playing outside is much more rewarding... when I strike a ball with authority into the upper 90 on Sundays it's infinitely more rewarding than scoring a any screamer on pitiful PES.

Murc I thought you quit playing PES like two years ago? You come back just in time to whine about another new version? You are a habitual bitcher dude, if you don't like the game and haven't in 2 years then go play outside instead of posting here where people like these games.

Anyway I'm not so sure Seabass is so cynical about it. There was nothing glaring about PES2007; the last couple of versions have been massive improvements.
