What is everyone's favorite controller...

Hey folks,

I have WE8 on the PS2, but im thinking about making the jump to PC gaming for WE9...

I have a few questions...

which controller should I buy for my computer?
what upgrades should I give my computer so the game runs at its optimum level?
Is any extra software necessary to patch games?
Is there anything else I should know before I buy WE9 for the PC?

thanks in advanced....

Hi.
I'd recommend this PS2 controller with this convertor - it works fine on its own so do not install the software that comes with it.

When you download a patch, any software you need should come with it, such as Kitserver. You will need to have the program called WinRAR to uncompress most patch files. A guide to WinRAR is posted here.

PC WE9 won't be out till after November time so you'll be waiting a while for it ;)

I quite like the Logitech wireless controller although I've only really used it with the PS2. Those blinkin' wires really are a pesky nuisance.

As for patching, a lot of them are ppfs and the ppf-o-matic software usually comes with them for the consoles. PC patching is usually a lot easier but does have its moments when certain patches are complicated to apply.

I have a laptop, which is about 1 or 2 years old, works fine and all that.

Is it worth getting PES5 on this, or shall i stick with the trusty PS2, because you know what laptops and games are like.

Just buy the PS2 to PC convertor and your sorted... I didn't know WE9 was released on the PC though?

thanks Hitman,
WE7 was released in the states for the PC, i saw it at two stores, I don't know when it was released but I think it was like june, so i was assuming WE8 and WE9 would be too.

But Zyg good point, i'll prolly just get PES5 when it comes out...

PES5 would work on my computer right?

Stevie, I have a laptop too and I've played a few RTS games, and it kills my comp, it goes so slow, so if I was gonna buy PES i'd prolly get a graphix card and RAM upgrade...i don't know much about comps tho...
would I need anything else to make it run smoothly?
