I believe it is important to be flexible, certain opponents will require different strategies to beat them.
For instance when playing against 4 3 3 - I will almost always use a back 4 with a central CDM. This way when i double up on the opposing wing forward using my full back and nearby CB the CDM will cover the gap my CB is leaving.
Similarily, If my opponent has no CDM i will use 2 AM and 1 SS striker + 2 CF's. He will be outnumbered almost every attack as long as i am capable of passing direct to the front 5.
In short, spy their weaknesses, be aware of your own and position your players accordingly. I take great pleasure in out manouvering my opponent in the tactical battle.
