controlling looks more responsive, more animation added, more realistic ball physics and you finally can play beautiful football this time.there is still horrible animation but gameplay does matter a lot for me.at least I can play Dodo with great feeling in ML again when it released in October.

1st Video: I was going to say goalkeepers looked awesome until i saw Casillas dive underneath the ball near the end letting Ibra score, so they look A BIT better than they do now. Player models/shirts look much better.Obviously in the middle of getting new kits in as Madrid has their new one but Milan dont! Crowd noise when scoring sounded lovely :)

Second video: Crossing looks amazing, always had a thing about the way they kicked the ball looking retarded, looks fixed! same with shooting :D red card was blatantly a red card so that's good, though I would expect a much stronger reaction from the players after something like that

This year is pretty good for me and difficult. I avnt been on here much these days but i just wanted to say my piece. I will big up fifa but i would like to state i will be buying both and still think pes 2012 looks class.

Pes 2012 looks good in those vids and believe me i love the series to death but Fifa 2012 has me sold. That series since 2009 has just absorbed so much of my xbox gaming time. It just feels so realistic to me online when playing another person, in so many ways. Fifa i feel have just nailed the intensity of football. In fifa you are given so many ways to play and that alone is a massive feature.

For example in Fifa its possible to have proper possession play in midfield with the ball and that can kill teams online with their fitness levels. In pes its only one option when it comes to attacking and thats full on 2 touch football wizz wizz bang bang. Dont get me wrong i love that and i am just pointing out the differences. Fifa to me just plays very realistically. The egine helps this alot though and i feel its something pes will never have. As im writting this i am watching football on TV and fifa just moves so much like it. The way the players turn etc is so good and its something pes doesnt get right atall. In pes a big fault of this is the player models. They're too similar to eachother. Supprisingly i now find it easier to differenciate players in fifa than i do in pes.

Defensively Pes is majorly lacking i feel. Its great that they now have good defensive AI but thats not enough. The game needs a physicality engine to replicate real football or else it just wont feel right. In fifa i can rough up a guy online if he is being cocky or alternatively i can stand off him and not let him rape me with LB passing tactics. Fifa does a great job of recreating the intensity you see in the big games. Like in a new recent fifa video where chelsea play arsenal (a big game) there's a sliding tackle made where Walcott flies over the defender and flips. It looks amazing but more importantly it looks believable as an action and makes your heart beat faster and immerses you so much into the game.

One thing people say about fifa is it has no player or team individuality. Thats so wrong imo. In fifa i can choose to play as santos against madrid and get a good game out of it. In a way the way the game moves etc can feel a tiny bit samey with different players but i personally feel like every player is different and every team is different. The great thing they've managed to capture aswell is that I can play as Santos (a 4 star team) against Madrid online but not get raped by them. I can actually get a good game out of it and it requires alot of tactical noose to come out of it alive. Something i have really enjoyed in my time playing it.

In Pes however unless you play as [enter powerhouse team] you will get dragged left, right and centre and torn apart. Which is dissapointing. The prevalence of player and team individuality in Pes is annoying imo now. I used to love it but they dont do it in a very realistic way. I cant believe i am about to write this but fifa's stats engine has a better impact imo. When i have Flora Torres from Genoa he plays in a certain way. When i use Pastore from Palermo he plays completely differently. The difference in speed between the 2 is only like 3 points but its massive and you can feel it. In fifa you have different types of player and its so evident. For example in my edited team i use to play against my mates i have Van Der Vaart in midfield. He is the only player in my squad that can perform certain passes. No1 else can play like he does. Walcott on the wing. I have no1 else who can sprint and weave like he does. In defence I dont have any defender as fast a cordoba and its a big difference. There are many little stats to each player that really seperate them apart and to me Pes has lost his completely.

Me and my mates recently got all the best players and put them all into 4 teams for us to use against eachother in a league. Every player was different. We traded with eachother for eachothers players and when i traded SWP for Walcott i could instantly notice a big change. Even the keepers are completely different. the quality from Cech to Buffon is amazing. Buffon is only a bit better but the amazing thing is you can notice it in the types of saves he is able to pull off. Having him on my team is a big help in our league.

In Pes there is such a lack in annimation that it becomes physically impossible to differenciate players in a clearly noticable way. They do it well but the engine is restricting them in this area. The player models also dont help to differenciate them. In the new Pes vids the player models look so small in comparrison to the pitch aswell. I felt it was quite obvious and it just didnt look right or realistic.

Those pes vids are so good and yet so bad at the same time. Some of the goals scored looked fucking incredible yet the keepers are horric, still fumbling it much like they did in 08,09 etc. The graphics look stunning but in those vids i didnt see much amazing AI going on. When Ronaldo scores and they play it around the area all the AC Milan players are just stood there like statues barely moving around. Just didnt look right also.

Pes will always be good because its amazing offline unlike fifa. ML and BAL are great modes and now linked possibly into one a la football life. Pes now has challenge mode and edit mode which are great features plus the good old shop. Fifa is pretty shit offline and i feel that its mainly because players dont feel different enough (completely contradicting myself) offline as they do online. Its weird. The AI in fifa just doesnt feel real and i can tell its a machine whereas in Pes it feels like a great battle and the pro evo disc is actually trying to get one over on its owner.

This year i will definitely buying both. Its the first year i know for a fact i'll be buying fifa on release instead of buying it around christmas when ive sold pes and i'll defo be buying pes because i need a master league in life to keep me happy.

Just thought it has been a while since i posted but just wanted to share my thoughts. Peace out

Goalkeepers this year look way better so that's a positive thing. Also the crossing and passing looks more fluid and life-like to me. But, I think we should just wait until we actually experience this game-play for ourselves because this is what happened last year and most of us were disappointed with the game.

Ali

It is happening again
I thinks it's too difficult to get a proper judge on the gameplay until you actually play it and get a proper feel for it.

I agree with Ali, although it does look a lot more fluid than any other PES game. Need to wait till I get a game of it untill I judge fully.

Don't want to get into a Fifa/PES debate, because good God there's been so many of them over time, but there's really some false things said here.

It's not true what so ever regarding what you said about possession player. I've learned to play some amazing possession play in '11 (and '12 will be even better now they have improved the shape of the team). Barcelona PLAY like Barcelona on Pro, which they don't on Fifa. Every team feels different, granted you actually bothered to try to play like them and understand the game enough to know what you're doing. If you're looking to just 'whizz whizz bang' it, then that's what you'll do, but if you actually you know, bother to play proper football, it works wonders.

I really don't get the 'Fifa moves better' stuff. Both games have their upsides and downsides, one that Fifa doesn't have is player movement and it's something that has put me off for a long time. You can turn at times and it's a ridiculous animation that I've never seen in football in my entire life. And the problem still remains with Fifa, I can put it on top class and still batter the AI. Pro takes a bashing for it's AI system when in reality, Fifa is just as bad, if not worst. Pro has finally worked on it's AI system and it's shaping of teams this year, which Fifa seemingly haven't, they seem to have just opted for licenses and upgrades as usual, rather than focusing on stuff that could truly change football gaming in the future.

I'll leave it at that, because there's no need for this Fifa/PES rant. My opinion is that Pro continues to improve, while Fifa continues to stall and have the same old issues it's had for years. Of course if you sit there and play it nonstop you'll get used to players, you'll begin to master certain things. The same goes for Pro though. The wonder of Pro returned last year in which you needed to truly spend time to master certain aspects, that's the biggest joy of Pro. I don't want a football game that I can pick up and be super at straight away, I want a challenge, one that reaps the joys of football. Pro is a different level of entertainment where I feel anything is possible, something I never got from Fifa.

Anyway, onto these gameplay videos. Good god, when will they put out a video which consists of two GOOD players actually playing? I swear every video so far has been two of the worst players who barely know how to operate the game

I really wonder about how 2 official videos come out like that , the corner side and shooting from there is a pathetic , how smart is KONAMI ? i don`t know if they are smart or not , can`t you wait untill you fix the shooting issue then realease the videos , that is really dumb .

i liked the movemnts and PES 2012 is going to a new era which can be equal or above FIFA this year , FIFA is a good football game but it lacks joy and satisfaction after the match , all players look the same , wether with licences or not , who cares , players look smaller than in pes , and i`ve played FIFA 10 and 11 online , all players online are playing the same way and same plan , passing from defenders and change thier position with movemnts then play to the wing , then the wing pass the ball to the nearest player then goal , that`s all about for the whole match , defenders , wing , wing , pass , goal , but what make us play FIFA is the animations and movemnts , plus the failure of PES for last 3 or 4 years .

If KONAMI can fix that issue , which we suffered to tell that to them as PES fans : where is 360 dribbling and movemnts ? where is the one on ones situation which you can pass one or 2 defenders then pass to your teammates ?

KONAMI always say that we have 360 dribbling system which i think it`s only 16x dribbling and movemnt system .

one on ones situation needs to be fixed , in FIFA they give me more space to think and dribble before the defender runs to me and hunt the ball like a thief ( as in PES ) , that is why FIFA more fluid but not as good as PES in gameplay .

I hope that KONAMI finally can fix those issues , because if we have those issues fixed , all PES and FIFA fans will come back to play PES 2012 and the next years as well .

FIFA looks like an old game , you have it and you want to sell it but because it`s old , all you think is how to ploish and cover it with a nice cover and say it`s new , and fans will buy it because how it looks outside , but inside , it`s still old .

PES is a new game , but with an old cover , which KONAMI don`t know how to market it will as FIFA .

Thank you .

I see the commentary is as bad as ever. I know it's not a huge deal but it really takes away from the excitement of the game when you have such boring commentary.

I agree with you mate , but i`ve noticed that the sound of the audience is better than last year and it covers the commentary in a good way .

Looks more or less the same as 2011 minus a few new animations and slicker movement. Not impressed by the videos at all. Actually thought you made a mistake and posted trailers from last year.

Same shit commentary, same lines and the same messi, villa, imbrahimovic and ronaldo super human abuse

The difference for this year in PES 2012 is the Gameplay and AI , if you have watched a previous videos , you would notice that the Gameplay is better and the movements are better .

I still think the goal celebrations look like all the other years... thought they were going to change this? I want to see managers on cut scenes too!

Don't think the graphic is better at all. However i really hope this "players-run-into-position-thing" will work properly. It's insane that we haven't seen a feature like this in the pes series yet (apart from the self executed one-two of course)

Happy so far, I just hope players are not too responsive due to all the bitching from the forums I have concerns konami might dumb down the effect of weight and momentum to appease the players coming back from fifa.

The same goes for first touch, I dont want the game to get to fifa levels where every player has the same first touch but I can't judge until I play the game.

I'm just concerned konami have dummed down aspects of the game but so far things are looking good. The playtests from evo web(my most trusted pes site) sound promising.

Yip if the players lose there originality then Konami have lost the plot.

Im imagining the game may play at a slower pace which is a good thing IMO

I hope the shootings improved too its a bit all over the place currently.
