started out on 3 stars to get the feel of WE8, I should move up to 4, it's getting easy now, but as soon as most of the summer transfers have finished (espically big ones like Viera), start a new ML

I really struggle, I have far better games on 5 stars in international cups and exhibition, but struggle to even score in Master League on 3 stars... I'm not sure if this is a mind issue or if I haven't set up my team right or what? It really bugs me actually. I think I play human oponents far too much so I never get a proper feel for the CPU game unless I play it for 3+ hours!!

im working on 4 star, i'll probably try 5 star after i complete one full season of ML. then maybe try 6 star

I pay my respect to you all, coz I played PES3 on 4 and was going to 5 but I started WE8 on 2 and now I'm going to three, I'm not that good, compared to you guys.
But I must say that in the beginning I played 5 minute matches and then it gets tougher to win. And to my opinion it also depends what kind of camera position you use.
I know that the most of the people play with the camera on width, you have a better overview but to my opinion you don't see the details so good. Like movements of the foot or tackles and that kind of things. And I have tried to play with the camera vertical(so you play from under to up) and that's a lot harder. In PES3 I had to go back a level with that camera position, but it was for me more fun to play it, the game respond different. And that's the same in WE8, there's much difference of playing with vertical or horizontal camera position.
Long answer for a easy question, but I think I share it with you, maybe usefull for newbies.
Answer: Going to level 3, with playing time of 10 min and a horizontal medium camera position.
The most important thing: I LOVE PLAYING IT :D :D :D

Nah but i can imagine Konami makers of some of the most difficult games(contra on ps2) would go all out on 6 stars. ;)

level 6

i play 5 stars straight since i bought it (just like WE7), but it`s just not enough. really nobody out there who hasn`t tried level 6. just made a couple 1000 points and don`t know whether to keep saving for the `free budget setting` or spend it on the `6th level` option. if there is anybody who can say a word or two about the new level, pleeease tell me!!!

also, i wanted to start master league, but would like to start with at least the main squad (of barcelona). got no problem to set out without the big names (like ronnie, deco, larsson ect...) in div. 3 or 2, but then would like to have the normal (average) players who actually were all brought up by the club (like xavi, gabri, pujol, luis garcia ect...) from the start. it`s just a bit unreal to be given some fantasy roster which you have to replace 100% at some point in the ML game. anybody yet purchased the `free budget setting` (the one for 10000p.) in the shop? and what`s the max. budget ?

Pes3 5* And that is becoming like 3*! I think I play too much, no wait. You cannot play Pes too much. Plus I use one of Wmz's formations.

Hi bonk!would you say the 5* on WE 8 is harder than in WE 7?

well, personally for me, WE8 level 5 is harder.
with a big but, though (which left me a bit dissappointed). it`s good that they made the scoring harder, the keeper better (still with some grave mistakes though), and the defenders gain on you from behind much faster once you broke through the defense line, so you never get much time to think when you`re rushing to a one on one with the keeper (okay, if you happen to be henry, saviola or martins the situation is different). and you can get your mates to press on the ball-leading player (create realistic 2on1 or 3on1 situations). that`s all good points. they sort of make the play abit more demanding. against that i struggle with majorly 2 big minus points. the player response is unrealistically sloooow, which is extremely frustrating for me as i was used to organize my defense line manually (clicking through the defense and adjusting their positions toward the opponent player, since you couldn`t sum 2 or more players together in WE7). actually defense was my master skill in WE7 so the goals i conceived were usually only dead ball situations or due to another excentric performance of my keeper (daydreaming or running off the pitch to see some friends or stuff like that). another point is the computer IQ. when it comes to your own defense men, it`s just stupidity all over their face. and overall, it`s sad that there is absolutely no midfield play. it just goes from defense to attack in less than 2 seconds (sadly reminds me of FIFA).
there is one more (smaller) issue that bugs me at times. you only can get booked when a badly timed sliding goes wrong (except in the penalty box). but when you`re breaking through the last line (and after that it would be just you and the keeper) or when counterattacking (somewhere on the opponent`s side), and you get fouled by the last man who used any other technique than sliding, the man never gets booked (let alone seeing the red card). that`s really a pain.
so overall i liked the level 5 of WE7 in a way, but the scoring was too easy and i also like WE8`s level 5 for the improved keeper, but the play on the pitch (like midfield) got too easy. so i`m desperately hoping for the 6th level to correct some of the mentioned points (although i reckon that the com enemy will simply play all the 90min in that crazy speed they switch to when they`re usually behind in the score).
always wondered why doesn`t konami just drastically improve the com enemy defense and ball-keeping abillity of a team when it comes to level 5 (or 6) instead of raising the game speed so that the players scurry all over the place like some roadrunners or smth.
but i don`t want to say too many bad things, the game still is very good and it`s loooots of fun...
