In schools you are taught to support your opinions with reasons to why you think so. In this case, PES vs FIFA is actually a very related topic.

"I play PES because... I don't like FIFA"
"I don't play PES because... I like FIFA better"

Then discussion arise, which is not only logical, but sensible.

-Graphics? Fifa by a slight margin ( its close but Fifa looks better while pes seems to have a bit more realistic faces from close up ) Graphics is irrelevant, PES may be a tad better but in the end both are butt ugly and I don't care.
-Animations? Fifa by far ( no contest ) <- both sucks, no contest and no winner
-Commentary? Fifa by far ( no contest ) Who cares, they are turned off within three hours on both games...
-Atmosphere? Fifa by far ( no contest ) Obviously PES needs a patch, and if you got a decent one this one is tied.
-Realistic things? Fifa by far ( dunno how to name this, I mean things like handball, advantage rule, snow etc... ) I'd call it "pointless stuff that only nerds care about"
-Modes? Fifa ( thanks to KONAMI screwing up ML with magic boots and stuff like that, otherwise PES would be the winner here alltho fifa career mode is quite good anyway ) I like BAL, and play only BAL and exhibition so I don't really care about ML and a million modes on FIFA that I'll never use...
-Freedom? Fifa by far ( running on rails in pes etc.. no suprize here ) Those rails are only in your imagination
-Features? Fifa by far ( KONAMI just seems to keep removing features every year..) What kind of features?
-Licences? FIfa I'll give you this one, obviously...
-Gameplay? ( there are many sub things here but I won't really go into invidual things like shooting, goalkeepers etc... il just give my whole rating ) Fifa wins again ( both games actually have alot of issues in gameplay and both different ones so its more or less even, some might prefer pes while others prefer fifa, however with some good knowledge of football you can actually change the gameplay in fifa by changing sliders while pes has no such option and its possible to make the gameplay quite decent with it, better than pes anyway, so fifa still wins here ). FIFA has NOTHING good going for it when it comes to depth in gameplay, so anything you say about it can be laughed away

so tell me fifa 13 is not a great game by any means but how can you claim pes 13 is better then, its simply not. Well its ur opinion anyway, I guess everyone is entitled to it.

My point is that FIFA is a shallow shell of a piss game, it's about as interesting as slamming your dick in the freezer door. PES at least has some tactical depth, but once the novelty effect wears down you notice that it's full of shit that you can't really fathom why the developers put there in the first place. PES2013 Exhibition matches is the best footy game in history, in competition mode it's a worthless waste of space on the hard drive, exactly the same as FIFA.

Or that we can actually play a match online with millions of users compared to maybe 40 users on PES.

Yes, but Fifa vs PES debates often end up with people insulting each other, as evidenced by OCKRASS's post.

Plus, this thread is about if people are still playing PES. The OP doesn't mention Fifa, therefore I don't believe the thread needs to go that way.

When EA shatters records with FIFA I see it as a sign that people will buy anything. I didn't point out my opinions of PES being a superior game, because (which you obviously missed) I said that both games basically SUCK!

Good for you that you like FIFA, it's really awesome for the game companies that "gaming illiterates" can not praise their shit enough. It used to be like that with PES as well, but honesty I don't see what's so good about PES6 either. I used to love PES5, and when I tried it recently I found that it sucked too, and PES6 even more so. Those games have aged like Madonna and Sharon stone, they are only usable with a ton of make-up and even then they look weird.

I don't hate fifa, I am able to see the truth on the screen.

There are a few positives about PES, exhibition matches for example. I never denied there are some good parts about FIFA either, but the total package is GARBAGE.. both games. How you failed to notice that while reading my previous post is astonishing to be honest, and it strengthens my belief that you are a total moron, OCKRASS.

I play PES now and then, but only BAL and only in short bursts. I have modded and tweaked the game to a tolerable level, but the "dynamic difficulty" is so damn stupid in this game that I feel like strangling a Konami employee with a piano chord.

Are you suggesting that FIFA13's animations are actually good? If so, you have absolutely no fucking clue. FIFA13's animations are shit, absolutely no depth to them, which is something that any experienced gamer should notice after about 20 minutes of playing the game.

The way I see it, at least FIFA13 successfully does what it wants to do. On the other hand, PES13 is trying to fit that "hardcore" image and of course failing at it. The result is that I can "casually" play FIFA13 every now and then with friends, whereas I am not capable of squeezing any genuine enjoyment out of PES13.

At the end of the day, I did not buy (nor do I plan to buy) neither FIFA13 nor PES13. But my experience with both games, is that one game (irrespective of the aim or direction) plays like a finished product, whereas the other game (irrespective of the aim or direction) plays like an unfinished product.

Yes, I'm still playing. I'm still trying to win a treble in ML on the Top Player difficulty. So far, it's been really difficult. I'm prone to early exits in the domestic cup.

I agree with that but your logic is flawed. I could also say that an extremely mediocre film is "good" compared to any of the Transformers films, that doesn't change the fact that the film is in fact a mediocre film....

Yes as often as I can, which usually means 3 or 4 times a week for an hour or two at a time. I would play more if I could but I have plenty of other things in life to take up my time. I guess playing this much keeps the game sustainable for longer, I won't get bored of it for a long long time yet

Just had a few games on MLO after playing Mechwarrior Online for about a month, and what a broken game it is.

Cheats, quitters, players bumping into each other, goalkeepers standing still letting an in an own goal etc.

I just couldn't be bothered with the frustration anymore, no matter how good the off the ball movement and build up play can be. Offline features are a disgrace, barely enough to keep my attention for a half hour.

After two months with this game I feel I've gotten everything I can out of it, probably worth the £30 I paid for it, but it could and should have been a lot better.

I hope PES 14 on Fox engine takes a huge leap forward, but for me the problem isn't graphics or physics, it's just silly bugs and glitches, awful referees and tackling mechanics, and overall just bad programming.

There are other games more worthy of your time and money.

Like the BAL mode? Play Skyrim.
Like building up your team in ML? Play FM2012.
Like online competition? Play Black Ops 2.
Like watching football? Get Sky+.
Like playing football? Go and do it.

PES2013 offers nothing that other games don't do better. It's one saving grace is the offensive AI, movement of the ball etc., when building up play. It's actually quite addictive just passing the ball about and seeing how long you can hold the ball.

Getting back to the subject of this topic... This game has many depths of hidden gameplay that I for one have only scratched the surface after playing 300 games since September. Today for instance I have learned the art of scoring with a header. Before I learned about this technique, I was majorly pissed off with the game for having such a terrible flaw!

Now, why the hell are people even a part of this forum if they don't even have the damn game?! Piss off and join a forum about pig shit!
