Why can't I see actual stats?

I haven't played PES since like 2008. Why since then have they ruined the stat system? What is all this about resistance, speed? It seems like you can see a player's full stats in edit but not in gameplan. Why? So now a player's abilities are limited to 4 sections, and most players are either C or D in these? And why on earth can I see neither the player's height, age or condition in gameplan? Where can I see them? How come this been dumbed down?

Press triangle or the equivalent of triangle if your xbox/pc on 1 of those 4 stat blocks in your gameplan and your stats will be shown in full!

For stats, age and height:
Press TRIANGLE on the player you want and then X when his HUB shows.

For condition:
Press L1 when on the gameplan.
