Why do players slow down?

I have been playing masters league on **** for 14 seasons, and players are becoming slow and or not performing.

For example, my mate came over yesterday, and we played against each others masters league team with all players 100% fit.
He has played for 9 seasons now and his players are much faster than mine. His Beckam is faster than my Beckam and his Shefshenko is faster than mine.
His players seem to shoot the ball alot stronger as well.

Why does this happen?. After a certain amount of time do players get tired?

What do you think I should do?
And yes I have checked the arrows (Both teams were all red up)

I have seen you post this same query in another forum.
The answers are the same.

Form arrows.
Player stamina.
Playing players in correct positions.

Maybe your friend has edited his players?
Maybe the grass is always greener...

I just thought you could give me some greater insight.
eg.
Do players stop performing after a certain number of seasons?
Does selling therm to other clubs and then re- buying them help?

you can play 20 seasons , your players won't change...

if your friends beckham is faster then maybe he edited his stats to make him faster. maybe he is holding R1 when dribbling. who knows?
