Why does KONAMI keep removing good things about previous PES games?

One question I never really understood is why do they keep removing really positive features in the game that the community really enjoys and gives positive feedback about.
Ever since the early PES games this keeps happening each year, they add some things, fix some things and then ultimately they remove some things that were welcomed and very enjoyable by the community.
I seriously do not understand it, by removing something the community likes and enjoys they are simply downgrading the game and the game will receive less positive feedback, I just fail to understand this logic at all.

It usually happens with a lot of games tbh. If they diden't alter certain things, People would complain that "Nothings changed" And that it would become boring quickly. Even though that the content they remove might be good. I enjoyed the shooting in pes 11. Im sure the shooting was decent in previous pes installments to (I never played them). Then in pes 12 they changed it and it was fucking garbage!. Now in pes 13 the shooting seems real good again.

I agree.

Things that have been in previous PES Games including PS2...

1. Mud marks on kits
2. Snow
3. Different coloured outline on letters & numbers (edit mode)
4. Handballs
5. Referee yellow cards players for bad foul, after advantage played.

Errrrm. Can't think of much more.

Was it PS2 the last time we saw handballs? I seem to remember it being very hit and miss. I had a handball decision go against me when it hit Henry's shin!

As Mak said - the option to mix and match kits was a nice touch.

Yea it just boggles my mind... why would they remove that, it makes no sense at all.

Snows a deffo. The menu system seems a bit gay to me as well. Drag and drop players etc. Not sure if its me or my pad, But the arrow fucks off all over the place

I read an interview with the new head dev a while back, and he spoke of the old 'random selection' game mode and how he loved it himself + didn't know why it was removed from PES.

From my knowledge it's not in PES13. He knows it's a major fan favourite, so yeah OP, it's frustrating as hell.

I can only think that the devs (new or old) want to come up with new ideas to show they can still be innovative. Where as, remaking or bringing back old things will make them look stale and unprogressive.

But it does seem that the people who make those decisions are the only people who don't really know their customer/fan base

Everyone seems to have loved the snow. I hated it with a passion and would reload my master league to avoid it.

I understand the want to be perceived as moving forward, but why take away features which never really improved anything, but made it a bit more real.
Besides, they can keep old elements of the game and just keep adding bits rather than take away.

My friends and I used to play World AllStars v Euro AllStars all the time...
Henry & Shevchenko v
Ronaldo & Batistuta...they were the days!

Its always been their way add 1 thing take 2 things out and its more than always something good that's taken out : this year the league mode, the trophy cabinet, the allstar and fantasy teams, mix and matching kits, 2nd gk kits, the list goes on and no reasons for it!! Is club boss in this year?? God I hope not!!

Remember Training Mode in Master League?

You got to try out your new signings and experiment with formations, tactics before a match. I also remember in Pes4 where in Master League you had to practice in training for a bit until a notification appeared letting you know that players are fit and ready to play.

They take it away so they can re-add it and say its improved from last time.

How much more can you add to a football game?

They could make pes13 the best ever, with every feature under the sun. If they do that then people wont feel the need to upgrade a year later.. plus they would have no ideas to market the product on.

Oh God, I do! Pre season took forever when I need to meticulously complete the training regimes with every player. :D

I miss the option to select "neutral stance" (or whatever they called it) when playing international cup. If you want to simulate the world cup it feels really unauthentic because there is one home team and one away team, and when the away team scores stadium is all quiet. Don't know why they removed that feature, but hope they bring it back.
