You're bound to get swamped posting something like that in the PES forums.. having said that I started off with FIFA this year (since it came out first and I didn't really have hope for PES given the demo and the last two atrocious years).

Then PES comes out, played it a bit and meh.. got bored.. put FIFA back in yesterday, full manual and you know what? Its actually quite good and it feels like you have more freedom.

Maybe its because I'm bored of the sport (beloved Liverpool got me down) or maybe because NBA2K10 is such a great game? Yeah.. those Celtics are doing better than Liverpool..

Ok, so be it! I agree that PES 2010 has its flaws, but FIFA is even worse to me.. If PES fixes the issues with GKs and referees and ongoing updates keep on coming from Konami (incl. the fantastic OFs that are available), the game is the best footy ever

^GK's are not that much of an issue (the animations are the worst part of GK's, they make it seem like a GK mistake all the time), but they are a bit of an issue I agree, though not big.
The biggest downfall in pes this year are:
Animations
Refs
AI CHEATING is way too much
Difficulty is still not hard enough
Sometimes passes but that's not a big issue.
But the worst thing is that pes still restricts certain pass direction and power and certain movements. That's what's keeping pes from evolving + animations aswell.
But apart from those, Pes 10 is enjoyable and I like it. I don't get bored of it like I did with pes 09 and 08.

For me the challenge of the game stops me playing it, i feel it over simplifies football. Fifa is far from perfect but the fundamnetal gameplay is there. The fifa AI cheats like hell by the way on legendary, there is a chance althigorim or something in fifa, in other words aspects of the game are scripted.

PES 2010 - 7.5/10
FIFA 10 - 9/10

- pes peaked in 2005 in pes 5 for the ps2
- pes 2010 main flaws:
players are not responsive
AI is stupid
game is not challenging
cannot swith sides
it is just not fun

fifa has many flaws. but unlike konami, EA is trying their best and they have improved a lot in the last couple of years.

fifa is playable and fun. i don't know if the game has the last appeal of earliers pes games. probably not. but it will do it for the time being.

i've been faithful and a believer of pes. but all i want is to have fun playing a football game. and pes doesn't deliver that anymore for me while the competition does its best to please.

never thought i would say that, but this year i will play fifa.

thanks for feeling that you owed us the pleasure of reading this.
You're only right about the fun and challenging part, because they are entirely individual.

My PES players are responsive, the AI is quite good (after I fixed it), I don't know what you mean about switching sides, but if you mean during a ML career, then ok, you feel that the game mode is different from Manager Mode and it's your business, PES never promised you that option.

I don't play much ML myself because i don't like that mode, I play World Cups and BAL mostly alone, and have an ongoing 8 team "premier league" with seven friends. After little discussion and testing we landed on PES2010 over FIFA10 and we conluded that FIFA10, although better than ever before is two horseheads and a carriage behind PES in the "Human vs Human" departement.

PS: unresponsive players fix = nVidia Control panel -> 3d settings -> pre-rendered frams = 0 or 1 (as low as possible, the better CPU u got, the lower you can go)
Works for all games, especially noticeable for widescreen users.

Well imho I love PES10 compared to Fifa 10. Far too many bugs and just so you know EA aren't that bothered about fixing the game either. Just check out the easportsworld forums. There is a lot of discontentment over there too! I love my PES and I'm proud of my choice this year. If you hate the AI just try using bluechampion's player edit's.

tbh, i m bored and sick of PES already too. Yes, there have been a lot of improvements, and its much better than last few series, but is those tiny little things that got me sick of it - the ref issue, switching sides via crosses, and most importantly, i feel like not able to do what i desired to do. I dont even have that passion to force myself to put the PES disc into my PS3, which was bought mainly because of PES, anymore. Its the first time, for almost 10years, that i really dont feel like i have to play PES everyday. i'd rather play some old games, but just not PES atm.
However, i really cannot see myself to be playing FIFA. I really really do hope things would improve.

My Sentiments Exactly. Well said SmAsHeD
