Why waste DVD`s?....

...When you can use DVD RW-?
Use rewritable DVD`s, but for me only (-) minus works, so, if it doesn`t downloads, you can try patching it again...
I haven`t come to this idea myself, I have read it somewhere around here, so, all the credits to someone who had already said it before... If you are the one, just post and take all the credits for yourself. I was just thinking to put this as all the gyus and girls around were complaining how they spend DVD`s for burning patches that are not working.
Hope that this helps...

Because some PS2s do not play DVD-RWs, some only play DVD-Rs and some only play DVD+Rs.

There, happy?

Zyglaski's got a point.

Most PS2s can't read DVD-RW or DVD+RW. And some can't even read DVD+R.

So the "patching and burning onto a DVD-RW just to check if the patch you just applied works" idea is a non starter.

At least it is for me anyway. My PS2 can't even read DVD+R. :(

Duno what mine can read, not really tested it, I know it reads some form of DVD's, just dunno whether its + or - ...whats the difference between them?

EDIT: does anyone know where to buy cheap DVD-R's, Ive just realised that my PS2 reads DVD-R.

So, I`m most probbably lucky one, mine reads RW-. Might be because it`s SLIMLINE one... Well, you should try if you are not sure. Just burn normal ISO file - not patched, and if it works, it works.:D
Good luck, anyway!

I'd like to see this list you're talking about.

Can you post the link for me please?

The best way to not waste DVD's is to use a HDD. If you have a PS2 you can use HDLoader/HDAdvance or if you have a PSTwo you can use USB Extreme.

The best part............your system does not need to be chipped or modded in any way. No modchip, no swap magic, and no more wasted DVD's.

You just buy a HDD (if you have a network adapter) and HDAdvance. It comes with the HDD boot discs and you juts place the game in the tray after HDAdvance has loaded and click on install. Or you can place the HDD in your computer and transfer the ISO's to it. I would suggest you visit www.ps2-scene.org or www.ps2nfo.com for all the info you would need as I have been out of the PS2 scene for about a year because I found out what a modded xbox could do (divx, xvid, mp3's, WMA, SNES, Genesis, NES, N64, PSX, etc.) Its like a very cheap multimedia center PC that plays all kinds of emulators at great speeds and everything can be run from the HDD :)
