Me and my friends was very HC Pro Evolution fans till we met original Japan version - Winning Eleven about a 2003. - not confuse with WE international.
We was playing Konami soccer games since first PSX ISS pro Evolution till Konami merged PES and WE development trees in favor of PES way.
Japan Winning Eleven 9 on PS2 was simply diferent.
I found only some bad quality videos on YT:
We found the best soccer game ever in our memories - The ball and players fysique was incredibly more realistic and gameplay was many more similar to real soccer - short passes and waiting in midfield on the oponents positioning mistakes... Realy dangerous finishing what means "If iam just before goakeaper and send technical shot about 2meters from goal post, just beside a keaper foot, it must be goal christ sake!".
Unfortunately the new versions of JAP WE are just the same as PES and this means the gameplay is about quick shifting game direct to opponent's goal without any tactical play.... One timer shots from penalty posts into a top corner leads into briliant saves sometimes.....
Players are much less controled and they has much longer response.... The ball is unrealistic, all the gameplay is too guick.... Iam very pesimistic about PES/new WE serie progress..
Do you played the good old JAP WE about 2005?
