I been loyal to PES for the last 15years or so, But its come to a point where Konami just cannot compete with EA the much bigger company and much bigger development team and budget for their football games.

So they already put out a version of their game for the next gen consoles, so by the time Konami relaese their 1st version on the next gen consoles, EA would of refined and teaked this version to great levels and staying a few steps ahead of PES, they will never bridge this gap, they just have the resoures to do it.

Konami will always be playing catch up like it has in PS3/Xbox360 era, and my God i play the PS3 version of this PES 2014, the product is shocking in terms of getting a complete finished game, it is shocking how much online lag this game has, at some points almost unplayable..

So next year its Fifa 14 on PS4 for me, Konami need to stop ripping customers off with their unfinshed products and come good, otherwise please just go away.

I given these people so much of my hard earnt money, well its time to move to the bigger and better ship.

Next year its PS4 with Fifa 14..

Not true at all. Why do PES and FIFA still release on the PS2? because there is still a substantial market playing on that system. Next gen adopters are here but by and large the masses are still playing on the 360 and PS3. I'll also bring up this- remember PES 2008? How bad it was and it really did not take any advantage of the 360 or PS3? It was a huge blunder that Konami was wise no to repeat. Instead they took a risk and input a new engine from the ground up. So in actuality you may have it backwards. Konami have a years jump on the implementation of the fox engine and game play enhancements. This years FIFA is still for all intensive purposes last years FIFA.

As for online is always anecdotal for everyone. I can tell you living here in NY I play people in Saudi Arabia with zero lag. But I could be very lucky.

Quite frankly I done care about PS2 versions of the game, we are nearly in 2014 and I am taking about a total football experience on a very powerful system that can recreate a near real life football due to its extreme power.

Fifa 14 on PS4/Xbox One does use a band new engine for your information, and one they will refine and tune before PES make their 1st version on the next gen consoles.

As I said Konami will never bridge this gap.

I played Fifa on PS4 at the mall... really nothing to be excited of except the cool graphics.... Every player felt the same... Messi, Neymar, Xavi, Iniesta, ..... boring

But with that said, I have no idea why Konami didn't release PES for next gen. All they had to do is make a PES2013 upgrade with the old engine for PS3/360 with roster updates and some graphical tweaks and release PES2014 next gen with this new engine they have implemented. Konami dropped the ball BIG TIME!

At the end, It's all up to Konami and the developing team to bring back the king of football games on next-gen. They have the right direction with this engine, now they only need to perfect it.

Sadly, the only way Konami could gather the attention of FIFA fans is with more licenses, and we all know that will not happen in the immediate future.

They could add an option to change the gameplay of the game to be more arcadey and simple to play, with trick after trick after trick and ping pong passes, goals everywhere, anytime and flashy graphics, I'm sure that could captivate a lot of FIFA fans, but that's just an idea I've had for some years.

Sup Deici?

I have the PS4 and the Fifa 14.....and I will say it is not only graphics.

They have also transitioned to the new Ignite engine which makes the game run much more smoother. It also boasts some new animations.

However, the game is still the same at the core. There are still problems with ghosting in replays, collisions etc....but the game is surprisingly smooth and very responsive.

On the PS4 side....there are a lot of owners who are returning the unit because of hardware failure which has been linked to the day 1 launch 1.50 update. Mine is ok ..thank god. ...so far!

The PS4 also does not support the following.
CDs, MP3, DNLA or streaming videos.

That is what is pissing most users off today.

Peace

you may be right, I only played it for a few minutes so its hard to really judge from that. As for the PS4, I want to get it but I'm not jumping on it yet, as I didn't for PES2014... Usually I would be all over the new game or system but this year for some reason I'm not convinced. I'm still debating whether to get PES2014... As for the support issues, I'm sure Sony will add all those with an update sooner or later.

Then you entirely missed my point. Its not about you but rather the market. They still make versions for the PS2 because they have perfected the platform and the money is relatively still there to release it on. There is no next gen of PES this year for that very reason, new platform, adopters of the next gen pale in comparison to the PS3/360 install base. Again you want to see a rushed sports game just so it can be on the next gen play NBA Live. Or rather since you dont like PES go play Fifa.

Edit @ Dieci its £20 on shopto, not a bad deal imo...

Correct StringerBell....Sony's Playstation 2 is the best selling console todate with over 155 million units sold. Therefore, developers collect a pocket full of dough every year creating titles for the PS2.

Also a lot of developers are still adjusting to the new design of the next gen consoles and some have released "upscaled" versions of the PS3 and Xbox360 for the PS4. Graphics look good on these titles....but the game core remains the same.

EA sucks balls when it comes the NBA live. They have done a horrible job and will be outsold by 2K14 easily.

I just can't seem to enjoy this years PES.. I really, really want to, but I'm having a really hard time with it. I don't get that "PES feeling" anymore with this game. :-( Hence, I've put in FIFA 14 alongside Killzone with my PS4 pre-order. I figured I would try that this year, and worst case scenario if I don't like it I trade it in for BF4 or something, get FM for my PC and let that entertain me until PES 2015 for PS4. :p

I understand what you mean because I been there too. It's just that we have been playing the same old PES engine since, what, PES2006?

Now that we have FOX engine running in 2014, it is not easy to adapt, unlike previous versions where every new edition is just a tweaked improvements... which we kind of expect to that into a newer PES after all these years.

This 2014 brings a new revolution, no more subtle fixes. Now we have momentum shifts in player movement, and the ball can deflect and collide randomly, etc and imo this represents real life football like never before.

From what I can see, 2014 has squeezed every bit of juice from current gen machine. I mean, just look at the lighting, supporter animations (no more 2D sprites), and player animation, faces, and every factors that happen inside a penalty box need super fast calculation.

So, no wonder if RAM and processing limit in current gen has been used up to put all those into your screen?

I can't wait to see what PES2015 like in uber powerful PS4. Imagine the possibilities.

I disagree with you on the point that the Fox Engine makes the game harder to adapt.

With a new engine, the games should be easier on the eyes as well as in your hands.

I have the PS4 and everything on the console plays butter smooth ...and most of the developers such as EA and Sony have not changed the controls on any of their games.

My take is that Konami isn't/wasn't really trying to move PES forward. This is based on the fact that MGS5 (which the Fox Engine was solely made for..before throwing it on PES) is now on the PS4.

Same engine ...so why not bring PES along on the same ride since both games run on the same damn "next gen" engine?

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013...alks-metal-gear-solid-5-ground-zeroes-on-ps4/

The answer is this ......The fox engine is not a new enough engine to bring such a demanding title to the PS4. The Fox Engine was created in 2008-2009....a total of 5 years ago. It also has limitations.

EA just created their engine (Ignite) about a year ago when they received the dev kits from PS4 and Xbone.

Konami also received a dev kit ..but only worked on MGS5.

PES was shelved until the last few months ...since they knew the PS3 kits were going to be used.

Most studios have released versions of their games this year on PS4/Xbone and will iron out any kinks for next year's release.

If ......and that is a big "IF", Konami chooses to release PES on next gen.....they will face issues and we will have to look for the other year to see if they can fix those issues.

Lets imagine the fact that it is now 2013 and PES still faces online issues. Doesn't that depict the highest form of negligence?

Other news.....Fifa 14 on the next gen runs on the new engine Ignite...... but is still the same game that is being released on the PS3.
Graphical improvements + some new animations .....but....
However the games plays without a hitch on the PS4. It runs realistically smooth. They have also slowed the game play. A good game...hoping to see the next gen version next release.

peace

Option Files for PS4 system

Hello guys,

No doubt PES is much better than FIFA even with the licensing problem they have. So I´m pretty sure they are gonna blast when they think they are ready.

The question for the forum principals would be...inside the PS4 system, shall we go into settings...System Storage Management or Application Saved Data Management to use our USB to upload the files, how should we do it when the time arrives?

Thanks.

I bet the hair on my balls that this is Seabass from Konami.

The question is ....."When" will then be ready.....When?

Not in this lifetime! :w00t

That's not what Fifa is like at all.

By the way, for the person who said on here a while back that I would quickly get bored of Fifa, well it turns out you where wrong.

I am pretty bored of video games now yet I still play Fifa at least once a week, it's no w the only video game I play (apart from Gran Turismo 4 on PS2). I even found GTA 5 boring to play yet I still enjoy playing Fifa like millions of other people.

PES is dead. This years game was proof they don't have what it takes to make a good game anymore. Or that they don't care and are just milking every last penny out of their gullible fans.

A football game nowadays won't sell well if you can't play online properly, and that's before talking about the gameplay. I guarantee you the only way PES is going is down.

I hope Fifa takes the UEFA license of them next year because it is the only thing they miss. Then PES will have zero selling points over Fifa and will eventually seize to exist as nobody will buy it anymore. That's what I predict will happen.

The PES feeling was due to an old engine, before it only take attributes in account. But it was "old" and shitty.

I really don't have enjoyed neither PES 2010 to 2013 (PES 2011 was the best for me) because of the lack of algorithm taken in account.

Now, they have very good engine, very promising, i make test on the training camp: there are many things others than attributes which influes on players reaction/situation/speed/power.
But not fit for PS3, too powerfull. And to port all you've done from the old to the new engine is hard.
Remember FIFA 08, no snow, all players with the same size, lag on the menu, most of the options have dissapears since older fifa, BUT new engine, new base/foundation for the future.

Konami is in the same situation that EA was before, we play (i do) on a console who isn't fit for the game engine, they needed to remove also features and graphics details that aren't fit neither for the PS3.

Edit: This year seems like it's they were forced to bring out the game, because of the "one year duty" that a football/sports game require.
But it was a 2 years works in fact.

I like your positive attitude towards PES......but like many others you will soon realize the truth.

MGS5 and PES14 were created on the same engine. MGS5 is on the next gen systems......PES is not!

There is no 2 year work on PES .....nor 1 year ......

PES is just a game on the back burner that they pick up about 6 months before its release.

You should take a look at Fifa on the PS4 and the Xbox One. Not a major improvement......but at least they are trying.

PES is dead!

It would be interesting to see the decrease in PES sales since PES 6. Sales in the UK and worldwide. I'm guessing sales have halved at least, definitely in the UK anyway.

Anybody know where I can find out?
