I'm thinking about getting a 1080p HD LCD TV, and I was wondering if the HD cable that you get with the Premium 360 would give the best picture, or do you need the HDMi cable?

EDIT: I really love Jade.

Xbox 360 does not output 1080p and does it even have a HDMI output?

The Xbox 360 can go to 1080i the PS3 can go to 1080p and also transmit 1080i. The letter is reference to the different type of scanning progressive where the screen is built up in one pass, or interlaced where the even rows are shown in the first pass and a second pass does the odd rows.

I doubt there is any point in a conversion cable as one of the main benefits of the HDMI is it's ability to transfer data in both directions, effectively allowing two components to 'talk' to each other.

Woohoo, was struck by the red light curse a couple of days ago.

I've phoned Microsoft who are repairing it for free and have said I'll it back within 20 working days.

I know it's a common problem, but has anyone else on here had to send their console off to Microsoft for repairing, and if so, how long did it take for them to fix it?

I wouldn't mind so much, but i've only just bought Halo 3, Medal Of Honor Airborne, Stranglehold and Bioshock :\

They quoted me 21 working days for a repair but fortunately my xbox sorted itself out

I had a problem with the dvd drive and sent it for repairs. They said it should take two to four weeks, and I got it back in two weeks.

There is barely any difference, if any, between 720p and 1080p on the 360.

Almost all Xbox 360 games are upscaled to that resolution - it's not it's proper res, which is why the difference is very little.

Another Xbox 360 Live related question...

Is there anywhere I can check the list of Xbox Live usernames, so I can think of what to choose.

Could you try get a link for me? I used to be "Bry10" on the old Xbox, but that account is long gone and would like that name again.

put in a name which is already used for example Major Nelson then it will say that username is unavalable and will come up with a list of gamertags for you to use

On the marketplace blade on the dashboard there is an option to recover old gamer tags

Sign in on xbox.com with your user name and email of your old account and if that works and says your Bry10 then recover it on your console

Hello lads, just got myself a sexbox. Just wondering, it keeps signing me into Windows Live Messenger every time I go on live, is there a way to stop it signing me in automatically?

Warning, expect a handful of stupid questions in the coming days.
