Just wondering i've had my 360 for over a year now (well 1 year and 26 days to be exact) and was wanting to know wether the 360 came with a 1 or 3 year warrenty i think its was 3 but i just want to see if anyone knew the answer.

Wait...
It comes with a free 1 year warranty, I'm fairly sure you had to pay for the 3 year warranty when you were buying the console. Although I think I heard recently that you have a free 3 year warranty for the 3 red lights problem.

I heard about that, a friend checked it out but they had sold out. Went over Pompey today and they're still sold out. The offer was only for the day however.

Heard GAME did it on the cheap for a weekend back too, so surely someone else must soon?

While I'm on the subject, anyone fancy a burn on CoD4?

What an awesome advert.

Btw, my 360 isn't signing me into live. Yet my internet is working fine elsewhere in the house. Ethernet cable plugged in, etc. It SAYS I'm signed in, but I'm not, if you get me.

Any ideas?

I believe it's due to the intermittent problems Xbox LIVE have had over the past week or two. It done it too me as well, but, was soon fixed. Also, when I have to update a game, I click update now, and it says it can't due to an xbox live problem, I restart the game, and do the same and it updates fine. Another problem that has occured on Live in the past weeks.

My 360 is just after breaking again. When I turn it on a black screen comes up with an error message and "E74" written at the bottom. I've looked it up and the code means it's something to do with the av cable, but I've looked around and people have said they've got that error and it had something to do with an av encoder chip in the xbox itself. Looks like I'll be sending the heap of shit back for repair for the second time the space of a few months.

Cheers dude, but picked it up for that price from GAME. Ordered lunch time on Thursday, dispatched 3 hours later and was here Friday morning. Excellent service.
I should start using them then. Ordered a game from play.com on 27th it got dispatched on the 28th and I've only just fucking received the thing this morning.

Rewards For Grumbling Xbox Users

Microsoft has apologised for the glitches that hit its Xbox Live online game system during the Christmas break.

The software firm said it was "disappointed" with its performance and promised a free downloadable game to all users as recompense.

It said the problems had been caused by a surge of people signing up and using the gaming service.

Microsoft said the growth in new users had been driven by sales of top titles such as Mass Effect and Halo 3.

Game offer

The Xbox Live service suffered an ongoing series of problems during the holiday season. The discussion boards and forums of many gaming news websites have been filled with gamers complaining that they could not sign up or get on to the service.

Writing on the Major Nelson website, Marc Whitten, general manager of Xbox Live, apologised for the "intermittent" service.

"While the service was not completely offline at any given time, we are disappointed in our performance," he said.

He added the outages were driven by a record-breaking number of new members signing up, and the biggest ever number of concurrent users. Most Xbox Live members pay an annual fee to use the service.

As a reward for their patience, Mr Whitten said all eight million members would get access to a full Xbox Live Arcade game free of charge. Details of how to claim this game would be made available in the next few weeks, he explained.

The downloadable games on the Xbox Live Arcade typically cost up to $20 (£10).

The Xbox Live service lets owners of Microsoft's gaming console take each other on or help each other in games, and allows them to download lots of games and watch TV shows and films.
