I have just bought a Max Drive today and I am trying to copy over the option file but when I open the Max Drive PC Software, I am getting all the game saves in the right hand window which is great. But, when I try and drag the option file over to the left hand window, the Max Drive, nothing happens. The icon shows that the file cannot be copied across.

I have tried this on 3 different PCs now and it has the same result everytime.

PLEASE HELP ! What am I doing wrong ?

you haven't got the lock switched on have you? It's on the side of the max drive, just make sure it's set to the unlocked padlock. Other than that there should be no other reason apart from it may be faulty.

Thanks for replying.

Yeah the key is set to unlocked so that is not the problem. The software is working fine and I can transfer saves to the Max Drive via my Xbox but when I plug it into my PC it doesn't seem to let me transfer anything to it or see the game saves that are on it now.

When I hover over the Max Drive icon in the system tray I get the message, 'USB device failed to enumerate' ????

I am thinking it may be faulty ?

Yeh that may be the case I'm afraid. You should be able to goto MY Computer and the max drive should show up in the Devices With Removable Storage section and you should be able to view your save from there.

I didn't think you could see the Max Drive for Xbox as a drive in My Computer ? Thought it was only for PS2. I may be wrong.

I will send the Max Drive back and ask for a replacement.

Yeh your probably right, I just assumed it would be the same as using the ps2 version. Hope you get a replacement one that works :)

I've written to Codejunkies, they didn't have been able to solve my "USB device failed to enumerate" problem so they've told me to return the MaxDrive to point of purchase.
I've received another MaxDrive with the same problem.
Only thanks to DobermanD from PESFans I've easily solved the problem!

To FIX THIS:
START
RIGHT MOUSE CLICK "MY COMPUTER"
SELECT "MANAGE"
"DEVICE MANAGER"
Expand "Universal Seriel Bus Controllers"
One of the "USB Mass Storage Device" will be your MaxDrive
To determine which one Right Click each one, select "Properties"
When viewing the properties, Under the general Tab, the Location will be ("Max Memory"), this is your MaxDrive
Select "Driver" Tab
"Update Driver"
"No Not At This Time"
"Install from a List or Specific Location" Click Next
"Dont Search, I will choose the driver to install" Click Next
Select "MaxDrive XBox" Click Next
The Driver wil update
Click "Finish"
You should now be able to start the softawre up and drag files across to the MaxDrive.

From now on all questions and advice about max drive should go into the sticky thread here. If there is more than one thread, we'll have useful info like the last post not visible in the sticky and that causes confusion.

So do not open any more "help my max drive doesn't work" threads - just use the sticky.
