I have to say, I think the Commentary on PES 2008 is fucking superb. A great improvement on Brackley & Brooking :)

What does everyone else think? :)

You must be joking! Fair enough, Jon Champion does a decent job, but Mark Lawrenson is absolutely horrendous! His commentary is fake and artificial. When I hear his voice, I just get an image of him standing in front of a microphone, with the script in one hand, whilst following the lines with the index finger of the other hand. His voice is unemotional and uninterested, making his commentary extremely annoying. If you want a definition of bad voice acting - look no further than Mark Lawrenson in PES 2008. As I said before, I think Jon Champion is good. If only there was a way to turn of Lawrenson's stupid ramblings off...alas, there isn't, so I end up playing with no commentary at all.

yeah commentry is way better than before but i have to agree lawro seems really scripted

champion sounds like they have taken snips from his actual match commentry soit has some feeling

lawro is scripted as fook and no witty lawro commenta which is what i was hoping for

yeah thats very true. champion is just that but lawerenson is a bit of a let down. then again compared to pes6 the comentary is already a vast improvement.

I agree, the commentary is better than pes 6 and champion does sound quite good. On the other hand, Lawrenson is sh*t. Im quite disappointed really because I quite enjoy Lawrenson's cyncial and sarcastic commentary on the bbc. I was hoping this would be in the game with some amusing comments but its far too serious, scripted and doesn't flow.

mark lawsenson, you can tell, was trying to sound like someone he's not. if he did the voice acting and made the words his own, like chapman did, the commentary would be good.

I have to say i do be so embroiled in the game i hardly notice.And even with the other games we used to slap on the foreign com for the laugh.

i think lawrenson sounds as though his mind is on the big fat pay cheque other than trying to make his commentary sound convincing. like some other parts of the game it's yet another case of ah well maybe next year( only 363 days to go)

I was very let down by Mark Lawrenson, I was hoping for his cheap jokes and cheesy one liners. Alas...

Lawro sounds depressed, pissed off and bored. His negative comments do make me laugh though, he hasn't got one good comment to make!

Yeah i am quite pleased with the commentry. i like that Champion gets excited when there is a good chance and he screams DROGBAAAAAAAAA hehe thats good, also he has some good phrases =) Mark Lawrenson, i agree with Divinus Ment on this one, he is poor, like u can imagine him in front of a script he is reading out lines, very poor, but overall a much better go by konami this year =)
