One of the most satisfying parts of the master league for me is growing youth players. my best two are Panucci - Defender - he was 16 and 74 overall and is now 24 and 95. another is Alesandro - striker - who is now 92 from 79. he also won european player of the year.

does anyone else have any good success stories with youth players

I have a few decent players from the youth system.

CB aged 21 rated 102
GK aged 20 rated 99
GK aged 18 rated 88
CF aged 18 rated 81

Got a 19 yr old CMF who is a goal machine with the long ranger and box to box cards. My LB and RB are both likened to Ashley Cole and are working their way up (think rated 80-85).

Also just this season got a 16 yr old rated 86 who the scout likened to Messi! Whom I'm very hopeful about, gone straight into the first team anyway.

I got only one youth player, still in development though :)
Ben Dayan, SB, Overall 81 @ 18yr( i get him at age of 16).

in my start of 2nd season in prem(3rd overall) and finally got a gary speed regen(16yrs old 83 rating) but although he is called speed and when i play games speed is name above his head on back of his shirt he is called "player",anyone know why?

It's all a bit random I'm afraid. In my Celtic team I had a level 5 scout for 5 years before he produced a decent player. When he did, the player was called Libermann and was a beast of a defender (think Franz Beckenbauer mixed with John Terry and Paolo Maldini) who's stats were 106 by the time he was 23. The youth set-up produced a few other good ones, but it all seems pretty random, even with a great youth coach,

I guess you mean Youth Team? A good scout won't help your youth set-up.

You need to invest in your Youth Team and Coaches.

Is this why my goalkeeper stats seemed to have stopped aged 21?



Sorry for the bad quality shot but I've had him for not even one season yet and I had just played a Champions league game against (I forget, haven't changed team names yet) and beat them 6-1 but his stats still won't go up :no:

Could someone possibly answer this for me as I'm worried about investing in youths now.

@maraduzza - I'm not to sure why that is, perhaps a strange glitch in the game? This probably sounds stupid but have you gone to edit mode and tried to sort it out that way?

Hastarius, don't worry, all youth players don't really improve in their first season with you. Their teamwork stat goes flying up as that is always really low as they are new to your team, once that is sorted he will settle and start improving.

It's nothing to do with how long he's been in your team, it's more to do with how old he is. While it might not be realistic from a physical, technical or mental development point of view that a 19 year old should progress quicker than a 16 year old, you can imagine that the older player would gain greater experience from playing a match.

I don't like PES's Youth System at all. It's stupid, wrong, and doesn't work well. It's just too easy as well.
