I assume it's the civil war story line that Dale referred to earlier, seeing as how it is a Nord stronghold I imaginge the Imperial storyline will lead you to smashing it......

I shall leave you to ponder that.... but there is more to it than that ;)

On another, very amusing quest now, involving a broken staff and a missing goat. How the hell do they think think this stuff up!

"Let's face it, I don't always think things through"

I love the sense of humour in this game!

Got to be my fave quest so far!

I'm playing on 360 and after many hours can say with ease that this is considerably less buggy than Oblivion and Fallout NV.

Wouldn't be hard to be less buggy than Oblivion to be honest. That game was riddled. Apparently the vampire glitch is still there though. One guy was saying that he needed to get the cure from someone, but he couldn't because they kept attacking them because he was a vampire

Original, you have nothing to fear in regards to Dragon difficulty. I was just exploring a new segment of the map when I happened to hear some noises. I glanced around and I couldn't see anything then I heard a roar from up above and I saw two dragons going at it.

I watched as they duelled and destroyed everything in sight, and I took any chance I had to pepper them with arrows. The fire dragon landed and set the area alight and I took my chance to wade in, only to hear the ice dragon land right behind me and proceeded to rape the shit out of me.

5 attempts and i still can't kill either of them, i'm abandoning this futile endeavour and next time I boot up i'm sprinting in the opposite direction!!

Just had a battle at a bandit hideout near Windhelm. 6 bandit's versus little old me. Killed two with my bow before switching to my beloved glass Greatsword to take out two more plus the leader (who I have to say was one tough sob.) Looked at the compass and realised I was missing a bandit. He was showing as being ahead of me but I couldn't see him anywhere.

After a quick heal I set off up the road, only to find him crouched down behind a rock. Sword drawn, I approached him... he said "don't hurt me" and then started running away! Of course I did the only decent thing. I shot him in the back with a poisoned, flaming arrow :naughty:

Just when you begin to think you may have seen everything, this game throws something new at you.

How do you make poisoned/flaming arrows?

I assume the latter is enchantment but the former...there's so much I haven't experienced or know about in this game, i'll be honest, it took me until I was Level 10 to realise you could sprint, and I only realised yesterday that you could pick up and move objects (in the Fallout games this was with R3 but they've moved this to holding down the x button)

You can make or find poison, you can then add this to your weapon for it's next shot/strike. (Pretty much the same system as was used in Oblivion)

So each poison arrow would cost one poison bottle?

Oh and i've never played an Elder Scrolls game before, which is why everything is new to me!!

Poison is very useful man. If you've a really high Alchemy skill (which is probably the second easist skill to raise, after Smithing) you can make some really strong poisons. When I play a new character i'm might go down the sneaky archer/ranger route, and poisons/alchemy will be a massive part of that. Possibly throwing in some Illusion magic for the animal controlling.

I'm nowhere near finishing this game and already i'm planning new characters. Amazing stuff.

Just found:

Lost Valley Redoubt!

It's bloody beautiful, especially the view from the top. You also must try the:

Bard's Leap Summit. - Just take a leap of faith.!

I will warn you though to get rid of the bloody annoying Forsworn before you do though. I didn't and by having to fight them after doing it, I missed what...

the ghostly bard said after I landed in the water below

If it was anything I really needed, please let me know!

Just beat met and beat my first Elder Dragon. Tough as old boots, with Ice breath that really took my health & stamina away rather too quickly.

My now tried and tested dragon killing technique saved the day though. Keep moving from cover to cover, the aim being to get the bugger to land, then hit it with a fully powered Unrelenting Force shout. This stuns it long enough to get round to it's flank and swing away.

Just a shame I'm still in the place in the post above. No bugger saw my feat of daring doo!

Hit my first major bug at Valthume. There is an Iron Claw door, but the code on the claw doesn't open the door :(

Well I turned back on for half an hour and I tactically led the two dragons to the giants territory close by. 3 Giants vs 2 dragons, ended with one giant left who I led down to the near by stream and as they don;t like crossing it, I just peppered him with arrows for the kill.

Leaves me nicely positioned for when I finish skyward sword as I have two dragon souls so I can go hunting for shouts.
