when you have a look in edit mode at the boots' section you can see that every boot has its own attributes from 0 to 5 such as speed, shoot accuracy etc... do they really have an effect on the stats of the player who wears them???

No, its like a placebo for example C.Ronaldo wears the mecurials and that makes him faster in real life so that is why he has 90 speed. If in real life CR7 changed to something more heavier like adidas predators, he'd become slower and might have lower than 90 top speed. This isn't portrayed in the game though co if you swap boots in the game, ronaldo will still dribble at the same speed.
This of course applies to every other aspect, not only speed

Hm... so if I pick a pair of speed boots before creating the BAL players stats, he gets 5 points of speed as "freebie"?

Seems boots have no effect on BAL player creation either. Wonder why they have those placebo stats there at all, if they have no impact what so ever on the game...

If it have that its becoz in something might cause an effect.
It could be for example: imagine that there are 2 players that have the same stats for speed, the same cards, same arrow colour, etc, and one have a mercurial, fast boot, and the other have a predator, better for long range shoots, they are heavier. I think if both have the same habilities but if they run for the same ball, same distance, the one who have mercurial will catch first the ball.
Or for example if u have a free kick with ibrahimovic or c.ronaldo with a predator they will have a better bazooka shoot than using their real mercurial.

PES doesn't have that much individuality!
Like I said, its just a placebo that makes PES look better
