I was playing a master league on my reefur patched WE8LI with my cousin on the ps2 simultaneously earlier today. Later when i went to go play by myself, everytime the game starts it would pause just before kick-off and it would say that 2P (player 2) paused it.

It's not the burn process that causes the slowdown, i think the patch unintentionally makes those parts of the game (e.g entrance scenes) to run at lower rate.
I burnt my one at 1x in nero using Ritek DVD-R.
