If you could stretch £10 you could get a 9800 which (providing the rest of your system is up to par) should make things silky smooth. What are the rest of your system specs?

I used to get the same effect until I got the 4.4 Cats for my 9800Xt.

Realistically, that system is always going to struggle with the game. The 1.5Ghz P4 really won't cut it with this game as well as the low amount of ram and the video card based on a 5 year old chipset.

With the new patch and the details on low, the performance *should* be playable. Really don't like the look of that FX5200 though.

Win98 SE is actually on ok gaming OS but it totally pails in comparison to WinXP. For gaming get XP, but for running benchmarks etc get 2000 Pro.

Shop around dude, a 9800 Pro can be had for about £130 these days and a non pro for about £110, and they are definitely the superior cards at the moment.

Yeah V-Sinc is/was the problem here. If the FPS gets above the Refresh rate then this causes the tearing effect. Annoyng ain't it?
