    Quick Online question

Hi there, sorry for an obvious question but am relatively new to online PES: Are Europeans and Americans able to play against each other even if they have different regioned copys of the game?

    Enough is enough...

Whislt I don't believe an insider told you anything for a second, it is a definite possibility that they've been working on a new PES engine for this generation built from the ground up for these consoles but they've had development problems or some such. Bear in mind whilst games such as...

    Enough is enough...

@proevofan: Well, that's the assumption you make. Bear in mind better graphics takes up more space on discs. They've got two new modes to include as well, more animations, more sounds I'm assuming and who knows how much space online takes up? Not to mention they've got a proper edit mode back...

    Diving Definitely In

The 2nd player knocking the ball forward has been in PES for a while. In 2008 I think it was you just had to press L3 and the second player rolled the ball forwards. So I assume it'll be something similar in 2009.

    Enough is enough...

And if they GET the fundamentals right this year, they'll have more time and money next year to spend on such small details.

    Enough is enough...

I honestly don't care myself. Yeah it might be "nice" to have Old Trafford, but at the end of the day the majority of the game is spent looking down at the pitch and even on replays you usually only get the bottom tier of the stands. So in practice you don't really miss out on much!

PES 2009 Official Champions League Trailer

By the way I picked up this translated quote from a spanish magazine that gave PES 2009 a 92/100. I don't have a link Im afraid but this is something they pointed out: "all 32 CL teams have full kits and names" Now we know from screenshots that Chelsea don't usually have their normal kit...

    Trailer But No Demo!

Revised guesses are putting it at the 3rd October which is next week. I'll be checking the US PSN store later on today as well though just in case but EU is the big audience for PES so if it isn't on our store I don't expect it anywhere else.

Pes 5 to Pes 2009 Game play videos. So which one is best?

^ Totally agreed there. The PES engine is great, but it needs a new injection of life pretty urgently.

Diving Definitely In (+ Video) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwROVMZ7Sts Check out this video. The quality is pretty crappy (but it's better obv if you click "watch in high quality") but it's a decent match between Brazil and Portugal. Those who wern't sure if diving was still in, check out...

What Would You Like To See In PES 2010?

The only thing I'll comment on at this point is I would want a COMPLETE graphical overhaul. Look at games like NBA 2K9, NHL 09, Madden 09, Killzone, LBP, and any racing game in the world you'll find graphics that are far superior to that of PES 2009 (and FIFA 09 as well, for the most part)...

Pes 5 to Pes 2009 Game play videos. So which one is best?

From the videos alone without going back and playing them all, I'd say 2009. PES5 was just a little bit too slow for my tastes, whilst PES 2009 keeps the game in the spirit of five but with a slightly higher tempo. That's what i think anyway. And I reckon it'll be even closer to PES 5 then...

    Playstation 3

I just played the Fracture demo. Anyone else tried that? I thought the shooting was OK at best, but the terrain manipulation was absolutely awesome.

    License Smichence

That's a good point, although having said that I don't think they have badges and kits licensed, just the team and player names, which I imagine would cost alot less.

How Deep Will Edit Mode be ???

PES 6 on the 360 was barely more than a port thrown together at the last minute. Graphically it wasn't even close to PES 2008! It hardly counts as a full fledged next-gen title.

Countdown to PES 2009 ..Can't wait ! NEW POll what team will u play ?

IO'll be going for Man United against a random team in Exhibition, just to get used to the controls. Then will probs do a couple of World Cups until some option files with proper kits are released, then I'll dive into Champions League and Master League.

^ I'm with you on that one, I think that's a fair test.

    License Smichence

^ Bear in mind guys that the size of a company isn't everything. Konami may be rich, but they are based in Japan and the demand for sports games isn't nearly as high percentage-wise over there as it is in America and Europe. So they have to prioritise their budget with that in mind. EA Sports...
