I don't have a max drive and I don't know what the exact fix would be, but write protected means you can only read data, not edit it or add new data. Usually used to prevent accidental changes. Check the properties of the max drive when it's plugged into your computer.

Also, I believe you can use any USB flash drive that has a FAT file format to transfer saves. I just have the AR MAX EVO CD and use a flash drive to transfer file saves.
