I think poor chemistry can bring them down a bit, but yeah, yours get boosted. Get a team with everyone having 9 chemistry and change your player when taking a set piece; you'll notice the stat boost. Try beating TOTW 5-0 on Ultimate, then start bragging about finding it easy :)
