Yeah, 74 is the max rating for Silvers. You might get some players in the hundred of thousands, because that manager has planned a deal/trade with another manager. I.e. they know no-one is going to sign that player for 300k, so the two managers can complete their trade. Sweey and I did...

The problem with creating Silver teams, and to a lesser extent Bronze, is that the better players are much more expensive than the average gold players. I can't bring myself to spending thousands on a Silver player. You'll find some that are 10,000 coins plus.

Chemistry used to improve a player, too. I think Style Chemistry has replaced that, though. I think team/player morale is no longer in FUT.
