Even with the annual problems a 360 brings, they're still far superior than the PS3. Trust me, I have one. And if it came down to buying a game for the Xbox for £40, and the same game on the PS3 for £30, I'd go the Xbox route everytime.

They do check it, as my one came back repaired (same serial number etc). Just use a towel like the two above have said.
