It was a lot easier to get a large amount of kills in Resistance 2, compared to CoD 4. I managed to get over 60kills in some of the smaller battles.

10,000 kills not 50,000. :) Resistance 2 was one of the few games I've actually enjoyed playing online, plus I was half decent at it, so that trophy wasn't a problem for me.
