As 4N63L says they default When you start the game, before it updates it asks if you want to update club squads, NT squads, or both. I updated both, but if it works like when this was in the game before then if you say no any new players will be in free agents. This will be useful for future...

More digging around.... looks like Serie B is still messed up with the fake team & the 2 demoted teams, there is however "Brutie" in the Other European Teams section which is Brescia

You could try locating the file in Windows Explorer & right clicking on it then select restore previous version choosing a date/time before it became corrupted.
