Racing is the only way to bring in the pennies! The Special events are good way to earn cash and increase your level too. There are a few good cars you get through it as well if memory serves. GT5 really rewards those with patience, Iron. No other way around it.

We'll have you racing like a pro in no time :D In the early days you shouldn't have to shell too much cash out doing your cars up. As long as you race smoothly, the wins will come!

The real crux of the game is in the GT mode, it also where the easiest races are and where you'll be able to build up a collection of cars for racing online. Nifty has detailed the car purchasing options already in this thread, but not the racing format. The format for racing is pretty simple...

Get a few A & B spec races under your belt and the cash will flow readily enough! Cash isn't the biggest problem on this game...

Re the cars, there is the Toyota i was using last night (one of the F86's) which was good fun, or maybe an Impreza v Lancer option? All I will say is no go-karts. Can't stand the things.

How's the brakes? You getting a lot of understeer? There are a couple of options. You can either upgrade the suspension (if you haven't already), adjust the brake balance a small amount to the front (beware though that you'll struggle to turn in braking hard), or you can always add 20kgs...

Yes, unless the stock PP is higher, in which case you cannot and would only be able meet the PP requirement by restricting the power through the engine part of the tuning menu.

Wasn't funny at the time! Was a good 0.5secs ahead with one corner to go, then my phone rang. You know how you can get really engrossed in something? Well, I was concentrating that hard that when the phone rang I jumped and actually dropped the controller. Need to turn it off in future.

:D It's all in the tuning. Looking at Nifty's time, I'm still a second away per lap, so I've still got to find a few legal corners to cut yet! And I'll be off until 9:30/10pm :D the missus is home earlier tonight & will want some non console based attention!!

1:36.323, bear in mind that i've tuned it, then backed the PP to 450, leaving it at 215bhp.
