That's bollocks. It has a very good story mode, with my only gripe being it's too short. Whack the difficulty level up to Hardcore or Insane, and the Enemy A.I. really is impressive. Co-op is excellent too. You'll be missing out if you don't buy this. £24 is a steal for a game of this quality.
