They didn't fix anything! The system date moved from February 29, 2010 (doesn't exist) to March 1, 2010 (a valid date) so everything is working again. Sony did nothing.

Just turned my PS3 on and the OS is showing the very same time it did when I turned it off this morning - March 1, 7:46am (which I'd set manually). Waiting to see what happens at midnight though expecting I might need to wait until 1am to be sure.

Worst case scenario is that they provide us with a firmware update via the internet which fixes it. After all, this won't happen again for four years if at all. They are definitely hoping it gets fixed when the machine date (not the OS date) ticks over to March 1st which is two-and-a-half...
