Why don't you both play someone else and who ever gets the better result goes through? For example, both play Miggy (Barcelona) and if Sweey loses 2-0, but RB14 loses 1-0, RB14 goes through. EDIT: Probably not best to play someone who's involved in the tournament. Conflict of interest and all that.

I usually choose Lell ahead of Oddo, due to his sheer strength. He easily brushes aside any winger trying to pass him. However, if I'm not winning and it's late in the game, I tend to put on Oddo for Lell, because he has more pace and is pretty good at passing, crossing and shooting.

I think the idea of having a personality could be accompished similarly to the Manager Mode in FIFA 09, where you select a response from a choice of a few, to certain situations.
