I have the fat 60GB, and it's noisy as hell whenever there's a bit of heat around - my slim 360 is quiet though, compared to the loud old model. My warranty is up on the PS3 now though, so if it dies I'll just get a slim, even though they don't have an SD card slot (I believe) which sucks.

The transfer update will come as a patch, rather than a "squad update," I would imagine, for the offline play. Then we'll be prompted to download the updated squad update, which will include the new transfers, before playing online.

Oh, it's SO much easier to be a racer than a cop though online, because even if your car is wrecked, you still get the win if 1 racer makes it to the finish line. It's all very fun - some of the time trials are hard though, especially when you're a cop.
