Chances are they would end up as second rate cash-ins unless partnered with either Konami or EA to make use of their expertise. Downside of a 'partnered' deal is game would likely become platform specific. In reality, EA are too big to be interested and both would have a reduced cut in...

Not been interested enough to follow it's progress, but was under the impression it was supposed to be this year... I'm sure I heard you would get access to it from the XMB... if that's the case it'll come as part of a firmware update.

Not too sure about that... I know my original 60GB version had backwards compatability (to a certain degree - thanks Sony), but the 40GB version, the compatability was dropped... Not sure exactly how the new models rate...
