In some respects yes although as we're reacing to his movements, we'd do so late and end up going around corners much wider. I did a fairly good job of keeping up with him most of the time but that's when I kept cutting corners as much as I could. I still can't get past other people joining...

The Bowling Alley....turn right when you enter Home Square from your apartment, walk straight to the end so there's a video screen and some grass to your right and turn left. Walk a tiny bit and the entrance will be directly to your right.
