PES2009 was blighted by the 1-2 bug, players would steam on with no regard for the offside trap. Often on Top player the AI was too adept at picking out perfectly time passes and some frankly awful players would score thanks to this 1-2 bug. Totally absurd.

Yeah I started with Stoke City who are pretty average and I had £67m in the kitty and was able to sign decent players for cheap. I think its because some fans felt it was too hard signing players on the last two versions of PES but to be honest I preferred that. So the short answer is yes...

I've played every PES since 1998/99 and I have to agree with you, I felt short changed by this version. Being better than PES2008, 2009 & 2010 wasn't difficult but they've created ... on occasions ... a Top player version with infallible AI. I'm buying a PS2 and PES5 ... since PES went next...

Its VERY hard, you really have concentrate and think about what you're doing. You can't just give it to a fast winger and run up the pitch, although I play it on +2 game speed just so my faster players can utilise their pace
