Well, stats aren't there just for show, they really affect how good a player is. By your logic, playing with Barcelona would be the same as playing with some lower division team. So, yes, it does affect the gameplay.

Completely true. They lied about it. I play mostly on star/superstar, 10 minute matches, and I rarely get a foul. Also, I only got one penalty since I got this game. Penalties are there, but they are extremely rare.

This is only for PES 2017. I don't think there is a way of using this on PES 2018 or a similar patch :(

I usually play on Star and, sometimes, on professional. The gameplay is more challenging than PES 2017 (On PES 2017 I played in superstar).
