The European squads are more than 90% accurate, after live updates. The Brazileirao squads is a known issue. They don't take any Live Update. They do but they are not correct , they just revert to default every time technically, in the squads they had last May. There are two possibilities...

I made some tests dude and it is like we supposed. I want to create original Palermo and Beerschot over the place holder teams, but they work bonded to the LiveUpdate. Which means every time you apply Live Update they revert to default. Exactly same as Bastia and the two relegated Chinese clubs...

Do not trust everything you read on PES-in-GAMES command list. Some mechanics are weird , or not described accurately. In your case, yes the command should be canceled but it works half-broken. The best workaround i can tell you, is re-press LB+RS to cancel out or choose an other player off the...
