I found the most effective lob for me is to press Down-Up on the analouge when the keeper rushes out. Hard to get in the right place to pull it off but very effective.

They should have the move where you roll the ball up the back of you leg and flick it over yuor head with your heel. Anyone who's seen 'Escape to Victory' will know what I mean.
