Lol....Aston Villa re-signed Darius Vassell from Manchester City... I guess it's realistic in that he is an Englishman moving inside the England League, and that Aston Villa are signing an English player in their late 20's. But on the flip side, he has played for them already...

Nah, if you do create your own team, then you can just add whoever you want to your team. Even players like Gerrard & Kaka but ruins it in my opinion. I've never added whoever I wanted. Have added free agents in the past.
