I didn't have any issues with this, swerve in free kicks is fine. Of course, if you're sending in a missile, you won't see it swerve a lot.

You're using Vista then? Try installing DX9 instead of doing that. Vista includes a version of it which apparently isn't quite compatible with DX9 games (yeah, I know, MICROSOFT...) Instead of trying to solve the problem by copying a single file, try installing DX9 altogether. It won't mess up...

No idea mate, but you could buy a PS2 controller and an adapter as I have. At first I was reluctant to use a gamepad, but my game has improved since then. Plus I can play comfortably in offline tournaments now, they always seem to use playstations for those.

It's been PC > consoles on features and (potential) performance for a looong time now, but it's consoles > PC on price, ease of use / set up and maintenance. By the way, the last console I owned was an Atari, and I don't see that trend changing. Long live the PC.
