Can you play from one of the lobbies? Also, can you plug directly in?

Did he try the same on his end? It could be his end? If either of you can plug directly in that might help too.

Well that is true but it could be the other person your connecting to if they haven't done the same. Or it could just be the EA servers :)

For you guys having problems connecting it could be because of your firewall etc. if your using wireless. You may need to open ports on the router. The manual should tell you which ones need to be opened
